Darn shame The Cadets & The Warriors couldn't have gotten together for at least one game this season. Would surely have been a good one...

Warren scrimmaged Alexander today. Defensively, the Warriors are very good, only one error in 14 innings. The pitching was decent, each kid went 6 outs with few walks. The pitchers threw only fastballs today. Warren's hitting needs some work but it was the first live pitching they have seen so far and as the day wore on the kids started coming around. This looks to be a team that really will get better as the season progresses. Lots of good ball players that are finally getting a chance to prove themselves.

New Lex is coming down next Saturday for a scrimmage.

How did Alexander look to you? Will they contend in the TVC-Ohio this season in your opinion, or will they still struggle? Thanks in advance.

Well since you asked here is my take on Alexander: Warren threw only straight pitches...no breaking balls at all. The leadoff batter for Alexander had 4 hits, very few other kids had any hits. The defense was not very good and the pitching was not great so I would say they will struggle but it is early and they will improve. They were very enthusiastic and upbeat though.

The wall was taken down last weekend and put back up today, it needs a second coat of paint and will be ready for play. Also, the home dugout got a new roof. Great turnout of volunteers today.

Coach Bayles, Coach Smith and I are extremely happy with the amount of parents and grandparents willing to put in time to make the baseball facility better. We hope to make the playing surface there one of the best in the area in the coming months and with support like this it is definately possible. On a lighter note, I didn't know electricians were allowed to work as carpenters..... :122245

Hopefully no carpenters take a close look at the wall!
