SOC II All-Time Team

I Played with Tim Tackett and i think he would definatley be on the top of the list, But has anyone seen Tackett's Younger son Tucker i think his name is!!! I think Tackett's youngest will follow right in his foot steps and probably more further!!! He is an all around athlete and will be great in any sport he plays. He can probably be the next all around athlete in southern Ohio!!! I just hope Tackett is smart enough to take his son to a school that will show him off!!!

You have to put Jordan Russell in their he never lost a SOC 2 game in 3 years that he pitched.

but, how many starts did he have against SOC2 teams, and what was the quality of teams he pitched against???? not being sarcastic, just wondering. and how much run support did he get when he started???

Russel was a good pitcher. I think it's a stretch to put him on the "All-Time" team. Never really faced any competition in SOC, besides the final two games he pitched against Waverly.

Add Tim Martin from Minford to the list. Their current head baseball coach was certainly a standout in high school and went on to play in the Pirates organization with the likes of Barry Bond, etc. Excellent pitcher, quite a pitching instructor too!

another minford player is donny bennet the softball coach. lead off left handed batter that had lots of power and could run like a deer. played at marietta.

you could field 2 teams worth of players with the talent that has come from minford. i dunno if they still have it or not but on the back of the home team dugout they had names of about 20 players who went on to play for big time college teams or minor leagues. just goes to show you make a kid throw hay bales all day, or swing an axe to keep the family warm....well, that kid hits about 15 years old they relize a baseball bat aint to hard to swing, and hitting the mit aint much differant than skipping a rock

Also, the names just kept coming from Wheelersburg. I know that all schools have some more guys, these are just the ones coming to me from right now. We've had some good players play in the SOC. Lots of guys continue their playing careers in colllege.

No doubt. Adam Wamsley had a great career at Wheelersburg. Another name that stands out is John Storey.

Brett Roberts is my favorite. He is now the athletic director in sw. He also helps pithers occasionally. Would have made it all the way but he threw his arm out shortly before his major league debut. I watched him throw off a mound at the sw baseball camp 3 years ago and he could still bring it at about 80 - 85.

Lots of good players on the above lists. Just think if Portsmouth would have been in the SOC, like they always should have been. Portsmouth and Wheelersburg has had a ton of talent over the years.

Brandon "Boom" Hutchinson and the Wamsley boys are cousins. Must be in their blood as all were outstanding players for Wheelersburg.

If we're going to have an all-time SOC Division II team then we need an all-time SOC Division II coach. That would have to be Dennis Hegarty.
