It will come down to Minford and Burg again this year. Valley will also be up there, but dont see them winning the SOC.

Well since a Pirate usually has a bird on his shoulder why not call the combined school Parrots?

Dont ever count Coach Schuler out of the mix. Dean's team last year was the most improved overall from the start of the season to the end. There is a reason the Indians have fielded very good teams over the years and it starts with the 'Chief' of the Indians. He may not have a truck load of talent but Coach Schuler gets the most out of his young men IF they listen to what he teaches them.

The Burgford Parrots.... I LIKE IT  :-D

Coach Schuler is a very very good coach. I didnt count him out even after my Falcons beat the Indians by 20 runs. I remember telling my wife that they will be 100 times better by the end of the year and boy was I right. Giving Minford all they wanted in the Sectional final last year.Dont get me wrong, i respect Coach Schuler and his coaching abilties but I just dont think they will have the pitching to be able to overthrow Minford or 'Burg. But this is why we play the games. GOSH i cant wait for the smell of freshly cut grass, new leather and the ping of the bats to get here.

Lance Davis is going to be the coach at East.

Jimmy Bailey at New Boston.

Kevin Noel at Notre Dame.

Other than that, I cant tell you a thing about the SOC I.

I think there may be a few teams in the Chillicothe area that may have a few things to say about that.
The SE district is loaded again. And will send 3 teams to the Regional at Va Memorial Stadium.

Bama I hear some of the teams in Scioto is starting their own JH league.

It is my opinion bub. Minford DID make it all the way to like the game before the state last year so, with all the talent they have coming back, I would have to say that they are a pretty good pick to go deep in the playoffs. Send those Chillicothe teams to play us. They wont know what hit them. 8)

Minford didn't get out of the Districts last year. That is more then just one game away from the state. Make it to regionals, then you can talk!!!!

SOC will be won by Burg.

Minford lost the MVP of the league which will hurt them. He had a great stick.

I truly believe if Portsmouth West would get their attitudes straightened out, then they could be a huge spoiler in the race this year.

I agree but it hasn't happened so far. The new coach has his hands full. Good Luck

Here we go again!

Minford did not make it to the regionals last year. Not sure where you came up with this one. They lost in the District semis I believe. As a matter of fact it may have been to one of them there Chillicothe teams (Zane Trace).

I have the upmost respect for Coach Martin, the minford team and wish them good luck this season. The Burg/Minford matchups will be dandys.

I saw that New Boston has a new coach this year. What happened to Jon Estep who has been there for several years? He did coach their girls' basketball team this year didn't he?

I too think Coach Martin has done a great job, however the thing with Minford is they always lose to a team or two they should not lose to. They are always in contention to win the league but cannot. When is the last league championship by Minford? Not a smart elleck question, just wondering.

Minford was beaten in the District Finals by Adena last year. They beat an overrated South Point team in the District Semi's.

2007 District Finals

Zane Trace defeated Wheelersburg 1-0
Adena defeated Minford 7-5

ZT defeated undefeated Adena in the Regionals and then the Pioneers lost the regional final in a close game to Heath who won it all.

It is going to be between Minford and Burg. But what else is going to happen with the league this year. Is there anyone that could upset these two teams? How will everyone finish? Any suprises in the makings?

If the weather will change, maybe schools can start to think about going outside soon.

Thanks Regulator for pointing that out. I could not remember who they played (I knew it was a Chilli team) or if it was the District Semis or Finals.

The minford losses comes down to player preparation for these games and focus. Minford players must find a way to stay focused the entire season.

Great opinion bub. Maybe if you were in the cages working your game as hard as you are your mouth you may just get by one of those Ross County teams. And have your AD call we could work in.lol That being said I have a lot of respect for the SOC II teams. I see lack of confidence still runs rampid down there.lol ;-) Good Luck Coach Martin, Estep, Schuler, and Dettwiller. I think Det need it the most.
