Belpre will have the big bats in Mike Waderker and Ashton Packard. Markie Tate and RJ Walker will provide bats and speed to the lineup

I think Wellston will be Ok this year but will not compete for the league title. Yes they had a good jv team last year but moving up to the varsity level is a differnt thing. They will be young just like vinton was last year. The boy from Vinton who tansfered is hurt and may not play this season. only time will tell . In the two games we played against Vc last year he needs to work alittle harder on his defense. MaraudingBobcat VC has a kid at is not to big but I got to watch them play about 4 times last year and that kid stopped about everthing. He's notshy about using his body to block the ball. I think that Tyler King may have a big year for Wellston and Jake Arthurs should move up to the varsity this year

Yes the transfer from VC to wellston will be missed in VC he brought a big bat but had spoty defense. He will bring a new, better attitude to the dugout at wellston, not afraid to do work that is needed. You mentioned Jake Arthur, Wellston will need him to step up and i do believe he is ready. I played on a summer team with him this year and he plays solid defense and gives himself a good chance at the plate. Seymour provides great versatility as well as Arthur does. Wellston will be in ok shape this year and will compete once again next year. King was also on that summer team and plays some good ball. The catcher from VC you talk about is Derek McManus, "Beavis". He is a small catcher and as you say not afraid to use his body. He is a little slow and that is probably is main downfall. He needs to work on his speed, you cant be the lightest and the slowest player on the team. I know how much that hurts him and his team because i have played with him for years.

I would put FH's pitching staff up against anyone's in the TVC.

Jared Gandee
Tyler Thompson
Zack Burke
Cory McCune
Grant Smith
Lance Sharpe
Dewayne Clark

They will just be looking for one or two of them to step up as ace-type pitchers. All of them were decent to good last year, but none were dominating like a Grimm, Chadwell, or Barnhart. McCune ended the season in the "ace" position, but was not dominant, just crafty. Watch for Thompson and Gandee.....Thompson was a young Frosh last year, and Gandee was not healthy...

Barring injury, Fed Hock should have as much depth in the pitching rotation as any team in the TVC this year. Just depends on the maturity and health of the young men called upon to take the duties on the mound this year. Fed Hock is an enigma to me, they could very well rise up and suprise all, or fall way short of last year's accomplishments (which in my opinion, were a bunch of overachievers!).

Junior Matt Lockard from Wellston is going to be really tough at shortstop. Also, Sophomore Jeff Matteson will bring the heat on the mound. Look for these two to lead the team into yet another TVC title hunt.

I seriously doubt the field or anything related to waterford baseball will be better this year. Just a hunch.

waterford just isnt a baseball school. there is alot of other schools with talent around who just can't get kids out, like federal hocking this year they just dont have the numbers they usually have.
