The Tigers start All-star play on monday at coal grove against Green. i think the statrt time is 530. Only 4 teams in the district are fielding all star teams. Ironton, green, rock hill, and south point.

PT, I don't think the tourney has officially been given to CG yet. It is still at SP for the time being.

How come Fairland does not play all-stars? They went to states two years ago in Jr. league.

I hadn't heard that sp was supposed to be having it. Thought cg was the site when rock hill didn't take it. I thought sp already had the 11-12 yo tourny going on

When Rock Hill didn't want it, the tourney was given to SP. Then it seemed to be reconsidered but it looks like it will stay at SP.

the Tigers play monday at 5 or 530 against green at south point. i thought it was going to be at coal grove but i guess mr seagraves decided that the tourny should be at sp along with the ll tourny. guess they needed extra $ to pay for the new infield at their ll field.

SP has already paid for the new infield, outfield and warning track thank you very much! Plus with new paint on all the buildings and extra cool uni's for the 11-12 that are going to the LLWS exhibition games everything at the Point is looking good. Too bad all the all star teams aren't looking as good!

Re: Ironton Senior league
Well I'll agree with you that the LL field is looking very nice but the SL field is a different story. I stopped by there on my way home from work Monday morning to see if there was much water on the field, which there wasn't much, and I couldn't believe the condition of the field . It looked awful. CG was willing to host the tourny but for some reason SP wanted to host the SL tourny at the same time they are hosting the LL tourny. I think they may have bitten off more than they can chew. It was obvious that no one had worked on it for quite sometime, and today Ironton gets a call saying that the SL games for Monday were cancelled because there was not time to get the field ready because the LL field would take priority. Thats fine but if you would care to look at CG's SL field it was in GREAT shape. John Jones put a lot of work in getting it ready when RH decided not to have the SL tourny, only to have the district decide to give the SL to SP . Again your LL field is looking great at SP,but with the SL field looking so rough why did they(SP) even want to deal with 2 tournys at the same time?

I was told that Ironton beat Green 8-0 in the District 11 tourney tonight. Ironton will play the winner of SP/RH on Friday, I think.

pleasant ...
SP senior league field has looked awful since my sophomore year (04') and i agree with you they do need to put forth a little more effort on the senior league ..... the mound is horrible i mean the worst ive ever pitched off of .... and yes im from south point saying that the field needs work and yes i coach at south point and yes ive attempted to work on that field but when its been in bad shape for 3-4 years now its kind of hard to do anything with just 3-4 people.
one question... did they have a scoreboard for the ironton-green game?

By saying the senior league field, are you also referring to SP's high school field?

They had no scoreboard for the Ironton vs. Green game. Does anyone know who will pitch for Ironton on friday? Just wondering.

I would say that Sparks will pitch Friday,or whenever we get to play. They (mr. seagraves ) wouldn't allow games tonight to get things back on schedule, after the rainout on monday, and it's supposed to rain thurs, fri, and sat. . Oh well I guess we'll get the games in at some point.

I wasn't saying that the coaches should have or could have gotten the SL field into good shape. My question is why would SP want to take the SL tourny knowing that their volunteers were already committed to putting on the LL tourny? Coal Grove had their field in tip top shape in hopes of having the tourny there. Their field hadn't been played on since the high school season and coach jones had it looking very nice.

Yes, it is the same field that the High School plays on.
