Sat:

Federal Hocking 12
Huntington(WV) 0

5 innings. Thompson hadn't pitched for a while, so he pitched all 5.

As of April 15, Huntington was 11-2 and ranked #12 in the WV Freeman Baseball Poll. It looks like the poll includes all divisions, and is based on some kind of power system rather than human opinion. Not sure what that's worth, but at the very least, they win a lot of games. Solid and dominant win for FH.

I am told that FH plays the Parkersburg Big Red at 5pm today.

Wow, that is pretty impressive; Thompson is defiantly the real deal. Good luck against the Big Reds, it sounds like you guys must be hitting the ball well too. I know you sure hit and pitched well against Southern the other night.

Whew. What is Belpre's deal?

I know Warren has a very good team and program, but Belpre must have multiple personalities. They play right with Athens and beat Eastern. Then they get drubbed by Wahama, P. South, and now Warren.

Went to Beaver to watch Vikes and Eastern Eagles (Pike) play.
Vikes won first game 14-2 in 5, but the wind was too much couldn't stay for the night cap.
Rose pitched a nice game and had at least 4 rbi's, Grillo had a good game at the plate, and Lance Rose looked really good behind the plate.
Over all great game by entire Viking team; and coaches :12223 :!:
GO VIKES

They weren't there. I am not sure if they played today or not. According to the schedule on the school website www.vinton.k12.oh.us. they were not playing today.
Eastern was playing the Westfall Lady Mustangs.

Just as I question Belpre's inconsistency, Fed Hock comes out and lays a steaming pile on the front lawn.

We both know that it is going to happen with a Rocky Brunty coached team at one point in the season, and I am sure that you will agree with me that it is better to get the hot mess out of the way now, against an opponent that no one expected FH to beat, than to go play a podunk team, and get their heads handed to them.

I know, I know, no one likes losing, and losing ugly, but maybe this will keep some balance in the scheme of things, as the season progresses. Seems like when things got too easy for past teams, they laid the proverbial duece out there, when no one expected it.

Let's hope they regroup and get another string going strong....

I've got the first game at 15-2...Second was 11-0.

I wasn't there, but I got my info from the starting pitcher.

Also, Curtis Rose broke the single season RBI record with HALF a season left to play!!! Record was 33 and after yesterday he has 35. Nice job!

I ask Steve Reed, who was keeping the book, at the start of the bottom of the fifth what the score was, and he told me 14-2. Vikes never had to bat again. That is where I got my info.
