The infield fly rule can also be a judgement call. If the ball is in the shallow outfield grass and one of the infielders is camped underneath, umpires may still call the INF rule, but it is a judgement call,

You are quite right, though most of the time INF is a blatenly obvious call if you understand the purpose of the rule, to protect the offense from losing two outs on a play they only lose one out on.

I agree with the rule, I was just making the statement that when the ball is out of the infield dirt, INF can still be called. no disagreement here.
