This argument was brought to my attention by someone saying the team is not getting along and self destructing. I was embarassed and outraged by this comment. This is a great team with really good kids and coaches. I have been around football, track and baseball in waverly and know we do not have the problems that some of those teams have meaning disrespectful kids, excesscive partying and general poor attitude. I am proud of this team and its coaches. We should be proud of the young men the coaches are producing and quit focusing on individuals. We are lucky to have two allstate coaches working with the kids. Coaching is tough any one who has tried can tell you this. It is hard to judge the whys of a decision unless you are involved in the whole process. So lets try not to be negative the kids have worked hard and deserve better. Be proud of alll the accomplishments that no other team has done!!!!!Good luck tigers at regionals!!!!!!!!!!!!!

drrabbit-How about a picture of the fan putting the ball back in the hands of White! Very immature post on your part, both sides have said it was a poorly umpired game..move on!
Waverly AND Burg are co-champs of the league, drop the whole "home field" advantage stuff, move on, this game is over with and both teams have very important tournament games!

White made a tremendous effort on the foul ball against the fence. I didn't see the drop because I was trying to see if he was hurt. I'm ashamed of the Wheelersburg fans if one did pick the ball up and put back in the glove. That phantom out ended a rally in a championship game. No matter how bad the officiating was on both sides, that incident borders on cheating. Wheelersburg has always been good and won with class, one fan can cause a soiled reputation.

I was standing right there. White caught the ball.

I agree... we need to give it a rest. But I have one more thing to say and I'm done.

Give me a break... Why would picking the ball up and putting it back in the glove be cheating on W'Burg's part? I'm sure the fan had no intention of deceiving the umpire but was just giving the ball back to the player to take back onto the field. It's the umpires that made this a bad call not the fans!

IMO it is no different than the 1st base coach for Waverly calling the player at first safe for the umpire later in the game.

He didn't catch the ball, I saw the ball drop through the black in the fence. That was a TERRIBLE call.

I got there late in the game. That is the first play I shot--hence the wrong exposure. I did not give an opinion on this play--only how it was called. None of my other pictures showed anything worth discussing except for one other and I thought that it would be objectionable so I have chosen not post it. I don't find this picture objectionable personally. It is just a recording of fact with no player doing anything wrong.

Good luck to BOTH teams this evening!

So if White did drop the ball and if the fan did put the ball back in the glove, so then there is no deception? Buldog how do you know what was going through that guys mind? Why would anybody give the ball to a kid who had just run crashed into a fence? He should have been more interested in the players' health than hurriedly getting the ball back in his glove.

Cause I was standing right next to him when he did it. :122249 He just picked the ball up and stuck in a glove. No deception intended. There were 2 or 3 players at the fence at that time.

No one from Waverly will argue that Robo wasn't out at first even though the blind ump called him safe. It has been said over and over that the umps were terrible. For drrabbit to post that one photo is classless. The "home field advantage" comment by Incognito is way out of line seeing how most of the bad calls went in favor of the Burg. The dropped ball (called out) along the fence was just pathetic. It killed a Waverly rally. There were many other bad calls but without visually recorded proof we could argue them until the cows come home.

From what I'm told Burg pitched their #2 while Waverly brought their #4. Waverly got down 5-0 early because Burg hit the ball better. A few calls here and there (two plays at the plate and attempted pick offs at 1st) and you're looking at a different ball game.

AGAIN, CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH BALL CLUBS - THEY ARE CO CHAMPIONS OF THE SOC AND DISTRICT CHAMPIONS.

Let's hope they both make it to State!

Bozo,

Buldog would disagree with you since he saw the fan pick it up and put it in his glove.

Yes you are correct. Many along the fence did not know he dropped the ball. It was caught but the impact with the fence caused White to lose the ball.

Oh.. and IMO drrabbits post was not intended to be classless. She is anything but that anytime she makes a post.

tigers2010onhuddle- maybe Waverly should have pitched their 2 or 3 then? That can't be used as an excuse. Both teams wanted to win but realized that today is more important. Each team's coach just decided to go about things differently.

So while they were checking to see if White was hurt or not , your friend decided to put the ball in White's glove when you said there were two or three other players there.

Wheelersburg's #2 threw < 40 pitches, more or less a regular bull pen 2-3 days before his next action. That whole argument is silly anyways. Didnt Waverly give their #1, #2, and #3 some time on the mound in the game?

Both teams used it as an opportunity to get some extended bullpen work for their rotations and let their respective players face some good competition before a tournament game. I know someone had to win and someone had to lose, but it sure was better preparation than practice would have been.

Good Luck to both teams today!! Keep two teams in the SOC alive.

Let's end it with this, and hopefully shut everyone up...you can't hurt White, he is tough with or without a ball in his glove

Just got a call that a friend of ours in Greenup Co lost their 15 year old son in an accident and his sister was driving him, last night coming home from a Regional Baseball Tournament in Morehead. The young man was there supporting his team and friends, count your blessings and let everything else go!!! Prayers to the Greenup Community and the Family.

Play the game like it may be your last and as parents and fan, watch it like it may be the last time too!!!

Amen Brother now let's play ball!!
