The 2008 edition of the Warren Warriors should be another good one. It may night have the firepower of the past few seasons (with huge graduation losses) but should be another winning season. With the live arm of Senior Daniel Wagner the Warriors have a great chance of winning any/every game he pitches. The #2 pitcher will be Senior Josh Ward, who had many quality starts last year. After that the pitching staff is suspect though. Juniors Justin Pettit, Jeremy Murphy, Ty Giffin and possibly Freshman Tyler Proctor will all get a chance to prove themselves on the hill. If they can give some quality innings Coach Bradford will be poised for another great run.
The offense will still put a lot of runs on the board with
Wagner (.306, 31 runs, 29 rbi) Senior
Cory Hooper (.379, 34r, 26rbi) Senior
Tyler Spence (.366, 23r, 30rbi) Junior
Ward (.328, 12r, 17rbi) Senior
Justin Adams (.290, 13r, 16rbi) Senior
Other possible starters include Seniors David Lemon and Steven Hunter...if they play. Juniors Nate Heiss, Jeremy Murphy, Justin Pettit, Heath Nicholas and Ben Johnson.

Re: Warren Warriors 2008
Warren has around 40 kids out for baseball right now. Appx 8 seniors, 9 juniors, 4 or 5 sophomores and the rest are freshman. There are a few other 9th graders that could really help the team if they would come out.
Two of the seniors are David Lemon and Steven Hunter. Lemon batted over .300 last year and Hunter skipped last season...glad to see them both playing. That adds a lot of depth and speed to the team. Warren is LOADED with great athletes, we will see how much baseball skill they have.

Everyone is considered a pitcher at this point of the season...all over the state.

Cap'n Scoop,
What's up? anything new to report on the Warriors? I see on the schedule you all have a scrimmage this Saturday with New Lexington. Will the field be playable by then? This last dose of rain sure left the ground soaked. I hope your ground crew can get busy the next few days and get it ready.

Warren's ground crew (the players) have been working hard on the field and they do a great job. If it is warm enough to play I'm sure they will.

Warriors Varsity and JV open season with a win.
Warren Varsity over Trimble 20-3.
Warren JV's over Trimble 11-1.
Good start for both squads. It's time to get focused from here on out. The month of April will be a busy one.
Good Luck Guys! "Stay positive, have fun and do something every day to make yourself better."
