ATHENS DEFEATS LOGAN 7-6

Athens spotted Logan a 5-1 lead after one, but scored 1 in the third, 2 in the 4th, 1 in the fifth, and 2 in the sixth to pull out a hard earned win. Steven Eberts pitched a complete game 5 hitter, striking out 5 and walking only 2. Poindexter, Harden, Patrick Angle shared the mound for Logan. Athens got singles from Greg Pach (2), Doug Chapman (2), Matt Witten, Jared Cline, Daniel Gillespie, Kyle Dean & Curtis Goldsberry. Gillespie had 2 RBI, & Pach, Witten, Chapman, Dean, & Eberts had 1. Wahl and P. Angle had doubles, Eggars, Morgan and Scott had singles. Wahl had 2 RBI & Morgan, & Bapst had 1. Athens is 1-0 and Logan is 1-1 in the League.

I know Coach Gibson and Coach Stewart have them prepared to battle...

The JV also beat Logan 9-4 while Dean Maffin pitched a 1-hit complete game also collecting a double and 2 singles. The JV DOGS were aided by some key plays by Short-Stop Trey Harris and the Timely hitting of Maffin and Shad McCollum...
