FISHER CATHOLIC 7, WEST JEFFERSON 2:Donson Dearth did all he needed - from the mound, at the plate and in the field - to propel Fisher Catholic to a Mid-State League League win.
Dearth pitched a complete game for the Irish (2-4, 2-0), earning his first win of the short season. He struck out 10 batters, including the side in the seventh, ending the night with an exclamation point.
As West Jefferson threatened to score with runners on the corners and two outs in the fourth inning, Dearth thwarted a double steal attempt by stepping off the mound and throwing to the shortstop, who in turn, threw to the catcher for the final out of the inning.
At the plate, Dearth drove in two runs in three plate appearances, recording a single and a double.
Fisher plays host to Lakewood today.

Re: Fisher Catholic Wins...Dearth pitches complete game
I REMEMBER THE DEARTH BOY FROM LAST YEAR. SOUNDS LIKE HE'S GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER GREAT YEAR.
Re: Fisher Catholic Wins...Dearth pitches complete game
does any one know if the Dearth boy that pitches for FISHER CATHOLIC is related to Doug Dearth who pitched for the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes in the mid 70's?
