The SVC selections for All-Ohio are good.

Roberts, Wonderleigh and Uhrig were the best three players in the league and they have great stats to back that up.

Many deserving young men didn't make the list. It is that way every year, very subjective at best. It would be impossible for it to be any other way. Congrats to the ones who make it, however stats don't always tell the whole story.

Isn't that an understatement!!! Only one player from Wheelersburgs 29-2 Final 4 team makes the cut and that's Honorable Mention. What a joke!!!

Congrats to Adam Wamsley on his Honorable Mention ranking although I think he deserved 1st team without a doubt.

Also congrats to Michael Estep on being chosen as DIII Coach Of The Year. An honor he definitely deserved.

I guess that just goes to show what a joke the SOC II COY voting was since Estep didn't get his conference COY, but was chosen the best in the State and the District. Strange, huh???

A player must be nominated by his coach to the poll voters to have a chance for All-Ohio. There are 32 coaches throughout the state in Division 3 that vote. Only some coaches may know about a player without information.

BG77....let it go, bro. What's done is done and this topic (COY) is way past old. Martin was certainly deserving in the eyes of his peers and Estep picked up D-III District and D-III State COY. Congrats to both coaches and well deserved on both parts. As was said time and time again, the SOC COY is not just based on W's and L's.

i agree. coach martin helps a ton in scioto county and at the SOC level he is the best coach around. hands down. and i have no affiliation with minford what so ever and can say that coach martin deserves the SOC award. at the state level, differant story. i can see how it was played out. on paper at the state level martin doesnt turn heads, but to all of us locals, we can see what goes on and he deserved it. this is a beat up topic, just had to add my thaughts. always a wheelersburg native having to throw something negative out there when their people dont get the highest honor. be it player or coach, there is always a compaint. wheelersburg is always competitive and loaded with talent, but you cant win it all, all the time. best of luck at the SOC level next year. have a good season and turn more heads, get it done on the field.....if you all loose a game, blame it on the umpire because at wheelersburg no one makes mistakes

SWbaseballFan, easy man. I know people look at Wheelersburg differently but it's not as you put it. We do expect to win in everything, but is that really such a bad thing? I would say that's why we are where we are.

Yeah, Coach Martin does a lot of extra for kids throughout the county. So does Coach Schuler from Valley. It's very much appreciated knowing they take the time to let our kids hit in their building or work out on the turf.

I saw where Blackburn from Ironton St. Joe made first team. I actually got to watch him pitch this year and was not too impressed. I even think he had some losses on his record. I wonder if his coach being a poll voter had anything to do with it.
