After gaining a new coach last year and also gaining some interest in the baseball department altogether at this school what do you see coming out of this team this year?
The players have really taken this year seriously due to the fact that Coach Martin has worked with them alot in the offseason. How do you think this team will match up against the others in the SOC?

They should be pretty good and capable of competing for the league against the usual powerhouses like ND, SV, and even Green....
I look for Osborne to have a good season, he is a good player with one of the best sticks in the league.....

I agree with you. The league will be pretty interesting.
Osborne is great. There are some other great players like Deweese and more.

Wondering if any of the transfers to Eastern this year will play? like Thornsberry

We have 3 very good starting pitchers back in Osborne, Swiggett, and DeWeese and coach worked alot with others last season so pitching rotation should look even better. I've seen some "open fields" going on this fall----VERY GOOD AND ENCOURAGING for this program. Osborne had awesome batting average last year and DeWeese up there too so if we return this spring with same attitude and desire we should contend with anyone in the SOC---even Symmes Valley who won the league last year.

If anyone hasn't seen the field lately take a drive by, its looking great thanks to Coach Martins hard work. We appreciate his passion and dedication to Eastern baseball.

If Eastern can keep Coach Martin around, then they will improve significantly every year. He is a very "baseball dedicated" person. Why the post 142 Legion team ever got rid of him I will never know....

Yes I agree for once.he is very dedicated to baseball and his team..he has helped me a lot in the offseason..with stamina throwing, and arm bulid up......

not true ZEN they got of him because nob didnt want him. Just like the school team.

Noble had nothing to do with it. Go to a Board Meeting at the legion and they will inform you, why they almost did away with the team.

i was there Martin had pay for pants for the kids himself. Then they wanted him to give the pants to the team for free.

The legion team is ran on a budget. The legion only has so much money, the team Coach is expected to raise some money. You should have money before you buy new anything . Yes I know the budget at Post 142 is small. I hear about the spaghetti dinners at the legion all the time now. And have seen the coach selling raffle tickets for something.

I know they sell tickets i buy some. Anyway Martin is at a better place now.He should get respect he deserves. Im not to say more about it . I just think he was done wrong.

Coach Martin leaving Post 142 was reason to a little politics ---just like everything else.
And yes he paid for uniforms out of his own pocket!!!!!!!

But all that matters now is that he has been good for Easterns program.

why do u keep posting stuff about martin? He is a great coach and would do anything 4 anyone.. waverly did him wrong just like they do just about everyone.. he has improved everyone on the baseball team alot.. he is always on the field unlike most that just are on it during season.. so if u dont like him fine thats your choice but u dont have to post stuff about him
