i think eastern will end up on top with symmes valley in 2nd. symmes valley has to play a double header at eastern so that should help eastern out. how many players did symmes valley have graduate last year

symmes valley has only been playing 2 games a week for a couple years now. just to make sure that hatfield pitches every game. he is a tough pitcher and a tough hitter. but even if he didnt pitch they could still contend for the soc

I must say, I agree with Cannibal. I like our chances, but my biggest concern is do our boys have the committment, desire, heart and focus? We were young last year and I feel the team was much better than their record showed, but they lacked committment, focus, and the hunger to put teams away. All that has to change this year, if we want a shot at the County Tournament and an SOC I title. From what I have been hearing the ones who were not playing basketball did not cash in on the opportunity of lifting weights or conditioning. The only one working his tail off has been Deweese! The others will probably come in out of shape and it will take longer for them to be game ready.
I know others were working and some others things kept a few away. But for the ones who could have been there, I just do not understand your reasoning for not grasping the opportunity to make yourself better???
I also must say, I like the Coach's passion and committment. I feel he has done everything he has promised up to this point. I just hope the kids and everyone sees this like I do. I like the way the program is heading, but we need to develop feeder programs starting at the Junior High and JV to make our program better. It sure helps our basketball!!
I think Coach will have them ready, but the our boys are going to have to reach down deep and work extra hard starting 2/23. They are going to have to make that decision starting the first day of mandatory practices. Every minute of practice they must have their mind set to do every rep in every drill with complete focus and at game intensity. If they did not learn from last year about playing like you practice, then it could be a questionable season. We threw away to many games due to the lack of focus. That caused weak execution when needed the most.
I am behind you boys, so if you read this I want you to know i am only trying to motivate you. I want the County Tournament Championship and the SOC I to come to Eastern in 2009.
You guys control your own destiny, so get after it starting 2/23!!!

rosemounter- sv is opening up the month of april with 6 games in 7 days! don't know where you get your info!
SV only graduated one senior, brice sexton and although he will be missed when you return 8 of 9 starters and went 17-3 last year they have got to be the favorite, Enough Said!!!

Clay will def. be up there for the running this year. Clay and Symmes Valley and Eastern in a close SOC race.

definitely look out for clay this year, it looks like the pitching will be good and shouldn't have to many errors in the field. if clay can produce a good number of runs by using small ball tactics, they will be dangerous.
