Eastern Eagle ties state record

Post by MoxyMan »

Congratulations to Tyler Hendrix for tying a state record by hitting three triples in a game!

Does anyone know of any other local players who hold OHSAA records?

Wes Riffle, 2008 grad of Southern, is in the state record books for going 5-5 in a game his junior year... 1 of 30somethin all time in ohio... got him in :-D :-D :-D

Congrats Tyler Hendrix

What about the kid from South Gallia, Bernie Fulks? I believe he holds a record for stolen bases, not sure if its a state record or not... someone may be able to help me out there

I know Kurt Conkey (Class of '01) from Athens is up there for homeruns and Chris Hewitt (Class of '04) from Athens is up there somewhere for his hitting streak...several guys at Athens have went (5-5) in a game so there are some local guys on there...

Im curious what the record is for strikeouts in a game, and most Wins in a season by a pitcher?

I remember Ben Chleboun (Class of '05) hit for the cycle in a game (Legion Ball) and Hewitt had a couple Mulit-Homer games just not sure what the record is...

Im sure the Athens Team (2001) put up some records for runs in a game, most runs in a season, fewest runs allowed...

Jon Coffman from Warren Local hit Home Runs in 9 consecutive games to set a state record in the 90's.

Also Ethan Bonnette needed to be hit by one more pitch to tie the state record in '07. He was plunked 17 times that year, but had a couple more that he wasn't awarded first base. He may very well own the career mark though.

BTW, congratulation to Mr. Hendrix, three triples in one game is an outstanding feat!

16 people may seem like a lot, but when you consider the number of games played every season, and how long baseball records have been kept.....it is quite an individual accomplishment.

Congrats to Tyler, and to the Eagles for winning and being undefeated in the TVC.
