I saw Blackburn throw a few times. The kid throws hard, but cant find the strike zone. Saw him walk 13 in one game. IMO if he got his control under he would belong in the discussion. But not until then

That was always the knock on Randy Johnson too. Brandon will be fine. He lacks confidence in his stuff even though it is very good. He is a strikeout pitcher that has experienced control issues because he always felt he couldn't allow the hitters to hit the ball.

The other thing you might consider is that some umpires are not able to call some
of his pitches because they are, for whatever reason bailing out, and in addition to that they seem not to wait until the pitch is done to make up their mind about ball or strike. He has never been a kid that gets the benefit of any pitchers strike zone.

Like all real hard throwers when his stuff is on, he gets really good in a hurry.

You need also to consider the fact that in his whole life he has never had a defense that was good enough to help him. He took that pressure on himself and allowed it to hurt his own performance. He always felt he couldn't allow the hitters to hit the ball.

He had 15 strikeouts in one game, 16 in another. The first was a 5 inning no hitter where he face 16 hitters and got them all out. (error on the catcher after a strikout allowed one hitter to reach base) and the latter being Adena which is a really good hitting team. He had 16 k's in seven innings and didn't even get a decision. He is a good player that has played on some really bad teams.

Put him on a good team and watch his control get a lot better.

Brandon does need to be mentioned as a Pitcher that will be pitching at the next level...... HS kids opinion does not mean much pioneersfan. I wouldnt say he played on a bad team. They lost to Wburg 5-2 in district semis. Very young yes. But that statement is a slap to his teammates and friends.

No one is slapping anyone. Be objective here. High School career team records ...4 wins, seven wins and what 11 wins....Big picture here.

Four wins is a bad team, 7 wins is not a very good team.

I said "some very bad teams" that does not point any fingers at anyone in particular. It is a broad but true statement. Calm down. No one is talking about you. Please do not attempt to turn what I said into something that it is not.

You can not tell me that you can watch any of those teams play and say "hey that is a good team." Did Piketon play better as the season went on? Yes. Did they turn into a good team yes. Were they a good team in 2007 or 2008 or 2009? C'mon man.

That ain't slappin nobody. That is being objective, open and honest.

Piketons record might not of showed it but they was a very good team. they have a very good group coming up and the next few years are looking good for piketon. They play in a really good conference and always have tough nonleague schedule. they was right in every game and E's or 1 bad inning cost them wins. Atleast everyone on my team thought they was good and we was close to winning 20 games

blackburn, heath, and i all play on the same college ball team. and these are people that i have played with throughout highschool, we are all freshman this year. heath throws, and mechanics are very well, but lacks the heat sometimes, and blackburn has a nice heater, but again does fail to find the strikezone at times, and mechanics are not great. but agian, its fall baseball, and we ALL have alot of improving to do still!
