Chillicothe Post 62 beat Portsmouth Post 23 by the score of 8-6.

Don't count 23 out. If they get on a roll they can be hard to beat. Very interesting start.

Post 23 had chances late.
Left the bases loaded in the eighth.
Two on, nobody out in the bottom of the ninth and did not score with three of their best hitters up. Actually, the first one bunted them over.

Chillicothe Post 62 defeated Circleville 6-3 on Thursday.
They will play Hillsboro in the winner's bracket final.

What was 62's record coming into the tourney? They definatly seem to be playing well as of late.

Post 62 has to be below the .500 mark for the year. I asked somebody last week and they thought about 11-17 coming into the tournament.
They lost a lot of close games in the regular season.
They have won two close games in the tournament so far though.

Both losses by Post 62 were to Hillsboro.

Post 23 then lost to Circleville 8-7 the next game on Friday.

Post 23 had a good year. Sounds like the defense hurt the team most of the year. Congrats to Coach Branon, Coach Davis and Post 23 on another good summer though.

23 had some defensive issues this season but give credit to Hillsboro - they had solid pitching and committed very few errors in the tournament.

seems to me that the post 23 coach should have made some changes on defense then ...since he kept saying that in the paper also ..i know where one should have been playing ...and it wasnt the outfield
