Why do the Ironmen struggle so much in baseball? We are a big school with over 300 boys and cant field a decent team!

I believe they have been good many years up to now.
Little and Wright won a lot of games in the 90's and 2000's.

The 06 team was really good. And 08 was really good also.

To bad someone spent all that money the field and indoor building for a sub par program. I heard jackson had a good coach and the baseball coming around.

Simply put all baseball programs are falling apart in this region because of football, basketball and soccer. Those sports are no longer just fall and winter sports they are being played or practicing now year around. In some cases I have heard of basketball coaches telling them they have to play AAu or some all star team during the spring. Therefore baseball just gets lost in the shuffle. Jackson for example some of the best athletes choose to lift or practice for football, just the other day I walked into the field house and saw a ton of kids roughly 45 working out for football and saw the 13 kids on Varsity baseball getting ready for practice. Yes they built nice facilites but these kids these days want the Friday night lights or the hardwood not so much the boys of spring. It is a dying sport in this region and it is ashame even in 08 when Jackson had a good year they still did not get much support untill the tournament. I hope it will turn around someday but it is up to the kids!!!!

They did score 5 runs tonight, which is better, but 0-3 in scrims and 0-6 in regular season, not too good:(
