Athens @ Waverly cancelled

In a makeup game for the 2011 Southeastern Ohio Athletic League championship at Gallipolis, play was suspended in the top of the second inning with two out and a Warren Local player on first base. No one had scored when play was halted.

Umpires suspended the game because of lightning and thunder. Play will be resumed Friday, May 13, with the Warriors batting.

Caleb Warnimont started on the mound for GAHS Tuesday and Ben Ekelman started for Warren Local.

It needs to be played Wednesday as the winner is to play Thursday.

The game will be played Wednesday. If Waverly's field is not playable then they have to go to Athens. If Athens not playable they will be playing at a neutral site.
