Started Season Off With A Win Against Logan 5-2. Big Things From This Team This Season Possibly?
Nelsonville-York Baseball is on the rise.
They have brought in a Great, Young Coach with a Passion for the game in Wayne Dicken, a former Athens Post 21 player, Alexander Spartan player and later coach the Spartan JV for several years.
Numbers are always needed to build, and Coach Dicken has done a excellent job getting kids excited about playing baseball in a Buckeye Uniform again. It can be very hard to get kids to come out for a sport that hasn't had recent success when you have another sport at the school that has been so dominate over the past decade (see Buckeye Football).
Give Coach Dicken some time, and he will have his Buckeyes in the question year in and year out in the future.
On a side note, in just his second year, it looks as if Coach Dicken will have a talented set of boys this season...
*Remember, Baseball is a very funny game...we play on a diamond, and try to hit a round ball squarely!
