Saw this on another Sport Thread, and with Baseball's First Pitch right around the Corner...interested in the Faithful Fans Thoughts on their Schools best...

ALL-SCHOOL TEAM
Try to List your Best Players and Positions, also include Coaches!
See others suggested List and ...
Then see what your best 9 or 10 man Line-Up might look like...
Would love to see the Match-Ups that could come from this...

Example:
ALL-ATHENS TEAM
CF/P - Kurt Conkey

Kurt played both positions, but was a very talented Centerfielder and Power Hitter...

since questionmark never really 'nailed down' a certain position - I'm gonna have to leave him off the Athens list ... lol

was he a shortstop? a cather? a pitcher?

how about I just put him as 'first man off the bench' ... or as they call it in fantasy baseball ... a 'utility player'

:)

questionmark ... there is only 1 catcher - then everyone else (and no its not 93Bulldog ... lol)

C - Scott Stricklin (kent State)

Kyle Dean was pretty darn good too.

SS/P - Scott Decaminada (Ohio University)
P - Corey Corrigan (Ohio University)

and how dare you leave coach Kyle Lonas off the 1B list?

:)

SS - Justin Scholl (Notre Dame) ... 1993
P - Izzy Olvera (Joliette College) ... 1991
OF - Brock Toadvine (Ohio University) ... 1990
3B - Brian Wharton (Northern kentucky) ... 1994
P - Jason Ervin (Shawnee) ... 1994

C/1B - Brent Hartman (1990)
3B - Shane Orcutt (1991)
2B - Dave Corrigan (1991)

I don't know when P - Brad Rogers graduated - I just know the guy had a freakin cannon! lol .... I remember we had an American Legion alumni team vs the 1994 team way back - and I was catching for the alumi with Brag Rogers on the hill ... I think he was in his late 20's, maybe early 30's, and was easilly hitting 88 mph ... I know my hand swelled up like a grapefruit the next day - and no pitcher had ever caused that, including Ervin, who threw pretty hard as well.

Ervin was great ... but I'm pretty sure he would have never been as good - nor would have he developed as a pitcher - if it wasn't for 93Bulldog behind the plate calling pitches for him!

We could add Chris Matters ... but since he's a Michigan fan - we'll leave him off the list!

questiomark ... you and Gregory would fit somewhere on that list as well ... but you already mentioned both of your names ... I was always a big fan of Jared Cline as well - and Chris Ford was one heck of a baseball player ... its just hard to fit him in after only seeing him for one season.

Crap on Athens....especially Striklin and Izzy

Jackson?

P Al Collins (triple AAA)
SS Mike Moore (All-American Wilmington)
P Jason Williams (Toledo)
P/SS Jamey Ratliff
Jared Humphreys
Shane Wolford
CF Jeff Rouse
Brandon McGhee
Michael Morgan
Pat Stevens
Frank Edgington
Chris Ervin
Clint Houser

Had a catcher in the late 90's that had an incredible season...but can't remember his name.

I know Mike Moore was 1st team all-state and think Shane Wolford was as a junior, but did not play as a senior. I think Humpreys may have been 2 times 1st team all-state.

Collins went the farthest with his talent...but Mike Moore was the best I ever watched play at Jackson....Humphreys next.

Ironman,

What about the Oxchstein boy? Pitcher/First Baseman?
I know I spelled his name wrong, but he was a pretty good pitcher...was in the '04 class

Ben Jordan was another player who played some Ironman baseball. He was '06 class.

I played against Humph in Football/Baseball...great guy, great athlete!

For Jackson the one player I remember most is Crothers from the mid-60s. I saw him hit the longest ball for a lefty at the old Logan ball field behind the school. And this was off a very good left handed pitcher Steve Mowery.

I did something similar to this a while back for Warren Local. Here is the link if you want to check it out.
