Bloom Carroll won the 2014 Division II Ohio baseball title with a 9-0 win. In the Bulldogs 7 tourney wins, six were shutouts. They outscored opponents 45-2. Guess who got the two runs along the way--GAHS in a 8-2 setback in the South Division II finals.

Gallia didn't play Bloom Carroll. Jackson lost to them!! Gallia lost to Logan elm I think!

Jottings, GAHS didn't play in the District II finals in Athens. GAHS lost to Logan Elm in the Athens District semi-finals. GAHS didn't face Bloom Carroll. Bloom Carroll shut-out Jackson in the Region semi-finals at Zanesville.

GAHS committee names 12th
Athletic Hall of Fame Class

Four former Gallipolis Gallia Academy Blue Devils, one Blue Angel along with one former coach and administrator will be inducted into the school's 12th Athletic Hall of Fame Class on the weekend of Oct. 3 and 4 this fall.

Scheduled for induction are the late Vance Johnson, a 1946 graduate; Winston C. Saunders, 1975; Sarah Todd Hodge, 1989, Dr. Gerald E. Vallee, team doctor, booster and number one GAHS basketball fan who hasn't miss a cage game at home or away since 1969; Robert "Bob Fowter, 1981 graduate and Jack Payton ,former coach, teacher, principal and superintendent.

The honorees will be introduced prior to the Oct. 3 non-league football game on Friday, Oct. 3. On Saturday, Oct. 4, the honporees will attend a banquet in the GAHS Cafeteria in Centenary where they will also receive their HOF plaques.

Twelve committee members took part in Monday's event in the Bossard MemorialLibrary.
