Gallipolis 8 Meigs 3.
Blue Devils improve to 15-4. Meigs drops to 12-5. It was an old-fashioned pitchers duel for 3 1/2 innings between Ty Phelps and Gus Graham. Score was tied 1-1 when Phelps lost control wit several walks, hit batters, wild pitches and passed balls allowing GAHS to score three runs for a 4-1 lead after four innings.
k
Kole Carter took over for Graham in the 5th and finished the game for GAHS. Conner Mattox relieved Phelps. GAHS iced the game with four runs in the bottom of the 6th.
Good defensive plays by both teams. Meigs cut down at least three GAHS runners at home plate
There has been a schedule change for GAHS. The Blue Devils will ply at Parkersburg South at 5 p.m. Thursday and host Logan Elm at 12 noon Saturday.
GAHS will host Unioto in the 2014 sectional tourney on Monday at 5 p.m.

South Point Over Tolsia 15-0. Tolsia only had 8 kids show up but gotta give them credit they still played. You can legally play with 8. Just every time the 9th batter gets up is is an automatic out!SP got to play all the subs so it worked out in their favor as well.

I am pretty sure you can't start with 8. You can finish with 8 but must have 9 starting. I could be wrong, but pretty sure that is it. Can someone clarify!!!???

I am actually surprised they made the trip all the way from Tolsia to South Point if they only had 8 players.

That is different to what I've always been told----I would have agreed with the---- you need 9 to start and then you go lower. Is this true for any other sports? Could you start a basketball game with two or three?
