Re: Tourney Draw
St.Joe gets a 100 mile trip to play a 11am game the day after prom, that sounds like fun.
Re: Tourney Draw
Schools know about the possible dates for baseball and softball tournaments maybe they should adjust the prom and special events accordingly?

Re: Tourney Draw
Prom or no prom no team should have to travel 100 miles for a 11am tournament game. Common sense at some point should come into play but not with the OHSAA or posters like you.
Re: Tourney Draw
The Southeast District Board could move it to later in the day if both teams agree.
Re: Tourney Draw
Get a better record and you would have been able to host a game. Teams with better records are rewarded with home games. Earn it, it's been that way for many many years.
Re: Tourney Draw
I think it's bull teams have to play at 11:00 to start with.....Way to early...I can understand Travel ball tournaments where there's several games to get in on 1 field....Should give teams the option of scheduling times between themselves after brackets are determined.. If they can't agree on a time then they play at the original time scheduled 11:00... The only reason I can think of games being schedule at 11:00 where there's only 1 game being played would be to get away from the afternoon thunderstorms and a possible rainout or rain in Morning game could then be rescheduled for the evening ..
Re: Tourney Draw
maybe you should forfeit if it's to tough. These are 16-18 year old kids they don't know the word tired. P{rom are a joke anymore. Kids show up take pictures then leave for all night parties. Might want to skip the all night party's Coaches probably should put a curfew on that night. How about the poor umpires and the site managers who have to get up and work soooo early on a Saturday? lol

Re: Tourney Draw
Please explain to me why this game has to be played at 11am? why not 2pm? could it be Miller's prom is Sat night? So far A78 you not gave a valid reason to play at 11. Yes Miller deserves the home game being the higher seed, no argument there but 11am ? com on man!!
Re: Tourney Draw
They all start at 11:00 am. First miller doesn't set the times district board and state do. Second I've been told that at 11:00 it's gives them all day to get it in if there is rain or storms but that is hers say. Again they all steet at 11:00 not just this game. Also again with a better record comes a better seed and you don't have to play in these play on games.
Re: Tourney Draw
If you're a player just stay home and don't play. If you're an unhappy parent out your foot down and don't let the boy play.
Re: Tourney Draw
Isn't Saturday the normal prom day?
Leaving at 7am seems like a good time, about the time they would normally be leaving for school on a weekday. And it is much better than getting home at 1am after a sectional basketball game 100 miles away on a weeknight. Taking advantage of all the daylight of the day if they need to use it.
If you get it in without delay, plenty of time to make the prom. When I saw 11am game times, my first thought was what a great idea. What time do wrestlers leave for Saturday tournaments?

Re: Tourney Draw
He is saying that their prom is Friday night and then leaving at 7am or whatever would be really hard or nearly impossible to enjoy their after-prom festivities. I am pretty sure there are game times changed every year, as long as both schools are in agreement and they notify the district officials, there should be no problem moving it to 3:00 or something that would work better for everyonemhs95_06 wrote:If you get it in without delay, plenty of time to make the prom. 11am is great if one team isn't traveling 100 miles, I would feel the same way if Miller had to come to Ironton. A78 don't worry about a forfeit ISJ will show up and play hard. 4th&goal, thanks for having some common sense but I have read enough of your posts to have already known that.
