We all know the Wheelersburg baseball program has had a great deal of success the past couple of years, but looking back, they have put together some great teams. The teams of 1996, 2012, and 2013 have won it all. The teams of 2008, 2010, and 2011 made it to Columbus but fell short. All of these teams had several things in common, great pitching, timely hitting, and played incredible defense throughout the course of the season. So, just for fun what if these 6 teams were in a tournament together. Who would win it all? Single elimination or double elimination. The Championship teams will face those that didn't win it all. Obviously, there could be different match ups.
All of these teams had at least 2 very good pitchers. You're talking about Heimbach, Sampson, Russell, Wamsley, Elliott, Hall, Moore, and Martin. Also, there are some names out there that weren't the number one guy on some of these teams that very well would have been if they were on another SOC team.
So, who do you have in a tournament of the Wheelersburg teams and why do you think they have what it takes to beat the other Burg State tournament teams?
Congratulations to a top notch program and to the most recent 2013 State Champions.
