American Legion Baseball

Portsmouth Post 23 made the long drive to Beverly yesterday evening to play Beverly/Lowell Post 389/750.

Beverly/Lowell won both games 10-6, and 10-0.

Next up for B/L is a trip to St.Marys Wv. Post 70 for two games this evening.

Nothing against the B/L team but I'm surprised 23 was even able to field a full team. Half of their players are from Wheelersburg who will be playing tomorrow in the state semifinals. They must have used a lot of their younger kids from the junior team. Good luck to both teams this summer.

Beverly/Lowell beat St.Marys 6-5 in the first game, and led 5-4 in the top of the 5th when a big storm with lots of rain hit, and play was suspended.

Ah, that's why Portsmouth only had twelve players make the trip.
B/L makes the trip to Portsmouth July 11 for a D/H.

B/L 389/750 is at Troy this weekend for four games. They play-Whitehouse, Hillsboro, Troy, and Ann Arbor (Mi.)

Circleville Post 134 is 4-3 overall and 4-1 in district play. Losses are to Pickerington, Westerville and Waverly.

Beverly/Lowell beat Athens Post 21 last evening 4-0.

B/L swept Tuscarawas County Post today 6-5, and 5-4.

Next up for B/L is a DH vs St Clairsville Post 159 tomorrow.

B/L made the long trip to Steubenville Post 33 last evening. B/L won 6-2.
Overnight up there, then on to Toronto Legion Post for a game tonight.

B/L split with St Clairsville yesterday, lost 1st game 5-1, won 2nd 10-0 in five inning mercy.

B/L hosts Meigs today for two games. First pitch 1:00. Bring a chair or set in the Reds seats, or the bleachers.

Good food from the concession stand with grilled burgers and hotdogs. Best popcorn in SE Oh. taco in a bag,nacho&chips, Gatorade,pop, water, cold candybars, & peanuts.

Great place to watch a game. Field is on the main drag behind the H. S. in Beverly.

Beverly/Lowell Posts 389/750 won two games today vs Meigs. Meigs only had nine players make the trip to Beverly.

New rest rooms, Concession stand, and press box, all first class... :-D

On the down side only added one light pole, and left field is still up the hill. :(

Only got half an inning in before the big storm hit Cambridge. Wind,lightning, hail, and lots of rain.

Down I-77 about four miles pavement dry. Radio this am reported Newcomerstown (about fifteen miles north had six inches of rain.

B/L will try again tonight when StMarys (Wv.) comes to Beverly.

B/L defeated St. Marys 4-3 in a nine inning game last evening.

Tonights game with Cadiz Post 34 has been postponed.

B/L Post 389/750's record now stands at 15-11

Circleville is 16-5 overall and 8-2 in District 7. Hosts Chilli 62 for one on Friday, Ports. 23 for two on Saturday and Hillsboro 129 for two on Sunday.

The Ports. DH will start with finishing a suspended with Circleville leading 7-0 in the fifth. The second full game of the DH will be a non-district game.

B/L is scheduled to play Circleville in the Lancaster tourney on July 5th.

But first B/L has a five game tourney at Napolean this weekend.
