Congratulations to Gage Carraher of Whiteoak on making 1st team all-state!

Whiteoak's Tyler Williams drilled a HR today in the regionals and made a phenomenal play in RCF gap....earned 2nd team all-state....SHAME on the SHL coaches who kept him off the all-league team.

Luke Taggert was honorable mention.

If information was passed onto the voting coaches, then I have no idea. 34-0 or whatever his career record is should have gotten him on first without any other #s. He's had a phenomenal career.

All three Westfall kids are solid players. But I don't see how Wheelersburg can only get one kid on the team, and it can be argued quite easily Moore should be on first team. Top notch player.

Westfall should have gotten to the district final against Wheelersburg, but made a couple of costly errors and struggled hitting against Adena in the tourney game. Adena has some nice young ballplayers.

A lot of political BS involved. Coaches who are "reps" always get their kids on the team. There are players in the SVC with better stats than the third Westfall player that didnt even make all league!

Those players with better stats were not nominated by their coaches. The Public needs to understand we can only vote for kids we have nominations for. As far as DIII Pitchers. This years group of pitchers were unreal. ALL are deserving but only 3 could be First team.

Yeah and Moore out pitched all three of them. His numbers for his career are unmatched by anyone in the area. 2nd team all state for him was a slap in the face.

I was a poll voter this year for both state rankings and all-ohio. the players that make all-Ohio are selected by 30 coaches from across the entire state. there are not as many schools in the SE district, so we do not have as many votes. as for how moore did not make it I have no idea. What i can tell you is there are only a 3 pitching spots on the roster. if the coach does not send out the stats to the voters across the entire state, then he can not be voted for. I hope this helps clear up any unresolved issues. I am not 100% but i believe all 3 pitchers selected have signed DI scholarships

Let me say this about the information that is being put out about Derek Moore and Wheelersburg Baseball. The last few years we have had several young men that could have been voted on the All-Ohio team. If Coach Estep was writing this or sitting here typing this he would gladly trade individual awards for the chance for his team to play for State Championships year in and year out. Yes Derek is very deserving of the All Ohio team, and coach again would tell you that our team is not about individual awards but what we do as a team and team awards such as State Championships Go Burg ;-)

Does coaching awards count as individual awards?

This shouldn't be that hard to get right but every year deserving players get left off. First off the coach has to put his players stats out there to be voted on. It is a myth to think if players win individual awards they can't go to a state championship. If they deserve it let them have it. I have seen players with great stats left off because their own coach leaves them off to spread the wealth. It is not about spreading anything it is about giving the awards to the players that earned them. It is not that hard to get right. Every year in academics we have the top students and get it right. We don't have a valedictorian that is 10th in the class because we are spreading the wealth. Coaches just need to turn in their top players and let everyone vote. Everyone is not going to win an award that is life. I don't want to see a player make all district and not make all league. Come on it is not that hard to get it right!

Derek Moore....career record of 35-0? Is our coach getting all the info out to the State? If he is, this is bullshat that he's not on it for the past 2 years. If the coach is not, then shame on him

The State hates Southern Ohio teams, so nothing really surprises me anymore. It's always been that way, and it'll continue to be that way
