Thursday SEOAL score

Gallipolis 4 Portsmouth 1

Blue Devils clinch third straight undisputed baseball crown and fourth in six years under Coach Ritchie Corvin.

During past three years, GAHS is 28-3 in SEOAL play.

Gallipolis has now won 13 SEOAL baseball titles since the league began play in 1941.

Gallipolis league titles include 1941, 1945, 1949, 1954, 1955, 1959, 1967, 1969, 1985, 2006, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

During World War II, league play was suspended in 1942, 1943 and 1944.

Current record is 19-3 overall and 8-1 inside the SEOAL. Blue Devils have four regular season games remaining—at home Friday vs. Pt. Pleasant, at Wellston May 7, at Rock Hill May 8, and a makeup game at home against Jackson on May 9.

GAHS was scheduled to play at Meigs May 9. Don’t know if that game will be played because the 2013 post-season tournament drawing is Sunday, May 5 in Jackson.
