Waverly takes game 1 of 2 today against Beachwood 4-3 in 8 innings. Ian Gillen the winning pitcher but a heck of a game by starter freshman JT Barnett.

Game 2 starts in about 20-30 minutes

Clay 11 Portsmouth 1 called after 5. Trojans fall to 0-3 and outscored 41-6 in 3 games. It’s early in the year but they have a ton of issues. Pitching, batting, fielding. Hopefully get it worked out. Next game is Monday vs fairland.

Your posts are getting old. The Trojans are in total and complete rebuild of the program. You keep posting about runs and issues. The biggest issue is the Trojans are playing a varsity schedule with JV players. The avg age of the lineup is 15.5 years old. Yeah..you read that correct. The avg age of these kids is 15 and a half years old. Most JV teams are older than that. These kids are often heavily overmatched. Just watch the game and watch the program get rebuilt. You’ll appreciate it in a couple years.

Faro is a tough opponent when he is on the bench. Gallia using their number 3 pitcher Andrew Toler

You’re correct they are rebuilding. Stating we been outscored and have things to work out. We have 8 juniors and seniors as well. Going to be a lot of bumps but it’s expected. They did have a jv game last night and played pretty good. I hope to see more jv games. That will help a lot. Get reps and reps and game experience. Not many schools have enough for a jv team so will be a challenge to get games I’m guessing.

I watched the entire game. Toler pitched an excellent game. Very smart location. Used the teasing high end of zone fastball very well. Jackson rarely saw 2nd base. When he got in a small jam he made great pitches. Got his curve over well and it wasn’t obvious. I didn’t think they should’ve taken him out.

Jackson had bases loaded and a 3-1 count in bottom of 7th but RF made nice sliding grab to end it. Goodclean game. Jackson also used #3 and #4 pitchers

Kind of wondering how that is possible on the average age of the lineup. I’d guess a lineup of 9 freshman being about 15 and a couple months average. I’d also guess if you had 9 freshman I’d guess a couple may still be 14 but I’d guess a couple are either 16 or very close as kids are always being held back it seems anymore. Regardless they sound like they are super young. Poster above said 8 juniors/seniors. I’ll guess they are low on experience and coach maybe just going with the younger kids.

Lol, I can appreciate a pitcher/OF kid. That catch meant more to him than anyone.
