With the win over South Point yesterday, the Portsmouth Trojans clinched an outright OVC baseball championship with a 12-2 record, the 1st outright title since the school joined the conference in 2015. Congratulations to Coach Aaron Duncan, his staff, and the players for making school history.
This school year has been very good for Trojan athletics in the OVC:
1. Boys basketball finished tied for 2nd in the OVC, best finish since 2016.
2. Girls basketball won an OVC co-championship, and advanced to the Final 4.
3. Baseball won an outright OVC championship.

The Trojans won a district title for the 1st time in almost 25 years with a win over Lynchburg Clay yesterday at Ohio University. PHS advances to play Fairland at OU next week. Portsmouth and Fairland split their head to head OVC games.

Congrats to the Trojans! Coach Duncan and entire has done a great job! From what I’ve seen and read, Coach has done this the old fashioned way, hard work at home and kids don’t travel all over the US playing travel ball.He’s a breath of fresh air to see him turn around this storied program.
