Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
Got to go with Chesapeake. They return a solid core of starters in a league that graduated several great players - at least four have gone on to college ball. Rock Hill will be very good now that their young team has another year of maturity and South Point will be very athletic again.
Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
Peake returns Allison Chapman, one of, if not the best, area HS softball pitchers last year. And the team behind her aint bad, either. they'll be hard to beat.
Don't remember if that outstanding RH pitcher returns or not She was about as good as Chapman.

Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
its pretty sad for me , to check out the softball forum from time to time, and continually notice the only conference within spitting distance has commentary, except, the OVC......sad......I mean until we get support from the majority of players, most of which don't play ASA, I guess we will continue to be the poster child for what could be.............
Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
Im a SEOAL parent, but will put in my two cents in. I've seen Chapman pitch a few times. Against GAHS last season and some summer ball tournys. She is the real deal. If Chesapeake has any offense at all they should be tuff. Also seen Fairland last year. I dont know who they return but i thought they were a pretty good team. Im not sure about the rest of the league, so ill go with Chesy and Fairland to be the top two teams. Good luck to all this coming season.
Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
Last year, it was Ch. winning, SP in Second, RH in third and Fairland and RV I think tied for fourth and CG last.....................I think it will be Ches. again, with SP and RH fighting for second....................Fairland has been struggling a little the last two or three years.................
Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
Peake is in good shape for a returning team. Only lost 2 players last year. Nikki Lindsay at short and Hannah Henderson in right. Only a little minor shuffling!!!!!!

Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
Fairland has no coach. again. Why can't they keep a softball coach?
Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
Leroy did a great job..........The last coach's were a young couple who knew softball and if given the chance, they would have brought them back.....The problem must lay elsewhere, not in the caliber of the last couple of coaches..........
Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
i agree coach baise did a great job. I heard they have hired joe auxier to coach.
Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
I like ole Joe, but the two young coaches they had last season were good....just needed time to get attitudes right........

Re: OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts
i would put RV as last, they have there coach from last year returning, i think its pretty sad, that he is returning , only for the fact that his daughters will play and earn some sort of OVC honors, i herd this coach paid players for hits last year, luckily they didn't have any softball scholarships and parents went to the athletic director and she did nothing about it, the RV softball program needs help and its needed help for about 6 years now, someone needs to man up, theres good athletes from that area, look at the ones who came an gone! RV is in dire need here!!
