Prospect camp Feb 18th from 4-7pm . Open invitation to any 7th-12th grader that might have interest at playing at SSU in the future . Each camper will get to show case their skills to the SSU staff. Hope to have a good turnout from SEO players. We desire to recruit local players if possible. If you go to the SSU softball site click on the " inside athletics " tap and click again on " camps" . What will the camps focus on? Is it for hitting, defense or both? Will it include work with Pitchers and Catchers?

Little more focus on hitting since the camp is held indoors . Hard to get a true evaluation of defensive skills of an OFer' inside. Or INF'ers for that matter . We will time each play for speed , clock and observe every pitcher and catcher . P and C's usually break into a group while others hit , then we switch groups and let the 1st group do some throwing and defensive drills . but P and C's get plenty of time to work out in front the staff for sure . We do have a full cage and each hitter will hit in the cage . Its not an instructional focused camp , we dont spend much time trying to correct flaws . in our opinion with a large group its too time consuming to get into individual instruction. Solid group already pre registered . Players from Miami Valley Express , Outlaws , Lasers , Stingrays , Buckeye Heat , Louisville Sluggers , and many others coming .

No . had a few drop out , we have room . Campus tour at 2pm if interested , register in gym at 330-345 for camp , wear sweats or long sleeves , IFer's and Ofers will be working out outside on soccer field .
