Can't argue with Valley being the big dog . They return nearly everyone from a 26-2 season (or something like that ) They have Bowling Green signee Dillow back in the circle. Great SS and team leader in B Dunn. Corns behind the plate. And freshman Koch if playing on a normal size field (Valley's fences are ridiculous 225 ?) would have a shot at breaking numerous Home Run records. She is worth the effort to go watch hit.
West returns a great thrower in Kegley. So beating them will be a chore for anyone. She throws HARD . Numbers were a problem last season. only had 9 or 10 on the team.
NW had a very good year last year. Not sure what they lost or if they have enough pitching to challenge for the top 2-3 spots.
Burg ? big hitter in Blair --who will they have throwing ? Tons of talent in the 8th grade-freshman level.
Waverly --had a good pitcher last season . don't know much about them .
looks like a deep group of good teams. MD
SOC 2 --who is the Fav ?
Re: SOC 2 --who is the Fav ?
Northwest lost Ellis (3b-Shawnee State), Lute (Catcher-WV State) and Malone (SS). These kids will be hard to replace. They have their #1 pitcher (Brooke Jordan), 1B (Brittany Williams), LF (Devon Scarbury) back. The underclassmen are going to have to step up. They should be in the mix.
Re: SOC 2 --who is the Fav ?
Valley will be the team to try and get by,followed by the burg and then a toss up for west and waverly then minford and nothwest followed the rest(not taking a shot there i promise)
Dan waverly will have a decent pitcher in sophmore mays, has pretty good velocity and decent control.will fore sure win some games though,Behind the plate a freshman with good skills and good arm, middle infield should be one of the more quik infields waverly has seen in a few years with seniors at the corners and (good)freshman in the middle, outfield with speed and experience with senior ceterfield and juniors with good abillity at right and left, heard that they will probably dress 14 or so,that should be interesting in it self for spectaters..lol...but all in all a pretty good team with a ton of potential for a few years to come
Now lets hear about the rest of the soc2 and who the tentatively line-ups are.

if the mound is being moved back this year.....there will be more hitting and fielding than previously before...........imo, may not see as much dominant pitching.

Re: SOC 2 --who is the Fav ?
girls with good spin and movement may get tougher, girls that throw it hard and straight might be a little easier to put balls in play off of.
Re: SOC 2 --who is the Fav ?
its not a question of if but it is going back to 43' and yes i would agree that pitchers who do not have alot of spin and who depend on the fastball for strikes better have alot of velocity, but for the ladies with movement and command of drop, curve and rise balls will be set appart from the rest,MD you are spot on.If the fast ball doesnt get up there close to 60mph then its going to look like watermellons comming at ya for the good hitters.Ptown Playmaker wrote:if the mound is being moved back this year.....there will be more hitting and fielding than previously before...........imo, may not see as much dominant pitching.

43 feet from the mound can't wait to see what Williams and several others at NW do with that!
1. Valley
2. tie nw and waverly
3. west and burg
4. minford
5. oak hill
Although I look for Minford to beat west this year!

Re: SOC 2 --who is the Fav ?
Based on what I seen @ S.V. scrimmages there are going to be more hits which will require better fielding. If the pitchers have nothing but speed they will struggle. The most sucessful pitchers were the ones who threw junk! Should be a great season. Wheelersburg and N.D. looked good on Sat @ S.V. they are supposed to scrimmage Tuesday @ Burg. With N.D. hitting 4 homeruns Sat it will be interesting to see how the burg pitchers will do.
