SEOAL Thoughts or dare I say...predictions

Post by ChillSoftball »

Less than 2 months before practice. I wonder what the powers-that-be out there think about the upcoming season? Should be a top to bottom scramble. I don't even see a weak team out there. Jackson and Warren are the teams to beat but Gallia, Chilli, Portsmouth and Logan can all win on any given game. Should be one of the most balanced seasons in a long time.

Co-champs Jackson return their entire infield and battery only losing two good outfielders. Offensively they return 8 of their 9 in the batting order including 2 4-year starters and 2 3-year starters. Mix in almost all of last year's bench players, a few talented freshman and the possibility of a couple talented players coming out this spring.

Jackson has another very difficult schedule but hope to repeat last year's doings and then some.

Can't wait.

Jackson should definitely be in contention. Is Donny going to be coaching again this year?

If he's not he should communicate that with me! Lol

He's not leaving...he's got a title to defend.

Boy, weather at the beginning of the week sure made that softball feeling begin to hit. Can't wait to get instructional days underway!!! The league could have very competetive contests ALL the way through every night, with every team. Saw much improved, young teams last year. All teams better come ready to play every night. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT THIS SEASON HAS IN STORE. Be interesting to see what coaches can get out of their players. Coaches in the SEOAL may have to step up and pull some moves out of their HAT TO WIN THE CLOSE GAMES, HOPE I AM ONE UP TO THAT TASK!!! :) Best of luck to ALL squads, no predictions here but alot of tight games!!!

Oh, by the way, GO IRONLADIES!!!

1. Jackson
2. Warren
3. Portsmouth
4. Logan
5. Gallia
6. Chillicothe

The gap between 1-6 has never been closer though

An accurate prediction would be...

1. Chillicothe
2. Portsmouth
3. Warren
4. Jackson
5. Logan
6. Gallia

Just my opinion. For sake of argument, I agree that the gap between 1-6 is closer than last season.

Sharpie,

You might know ALL, or NOTHING!!!

I wish I could find your picks from last year's preseason. You picked us to finish last in 2012, but I'm THANKFUL we played the games for we rose to the TOP.

With those results, I was hoping you put us their again, if results would be the same after playing the game.....

BEST OF LUCK TO ALL IN THE SEOAL, MAYBE THE WEATHER WILL BREAK BEFORE APRIL 1st.

GO IRONLADIES SOFTBALL!!!

INCORRECT -- No Banner, and never was said OUTRIGHT... Only the fact that won the league for 1st time in 33 years.

Can't wait for the season to begin, things looked good today being outside.

CAN'T WAIT!!!

Portsmouth with 8 starters back should be someone to keep an eye on.

Sharpie, are you just trying to get people to argue???? Chillicothe does have some talent to work with but I wouldn't be so bold to put them in first.

I'm sure he isn't trying to argue as much as he is just proud of Chillicothe....and that's ok. This is a chat board not a Board Meeting of the SEOAL. That being said, Chillicothe lost 4 or 5 seniors off of a team that seemed mentally weak at times. You can get them rattled easily and they fold. I doubt that's changed. Kind of like their girls basketball team, they have the talent but just seemed disinterested at times. They do have some talent but as the biggest school in the league, they should have more.

the seniors that Chillicothe lost have been replaced with just as talented, if not more talented players. Yes I agree the girls seem to get rattled and fall apart but that is when an effective coach calms the girls then regains focus.

Jackson and Portsmouth have a lot returning and you know Warren will always be there. Don't know what Logan has back or Gallipolis.

Has Jim Niday decided to coach Gallipolis Blue Angels again this spring?
