Athens Middle School Softball League

This league is based out of Athens, but has had teams from Logan, Vinton, Belpre, Southern, Eastern, Meigs, Alexander, Athens, and Parkersburg. This is a non-school funded league. Each team is comprised of players that live in their school district. Last year we had 10 teams and played double headers on Sundays. Each team can setup as many extra games and with any other team, either in the league or not. For the past two years we had a pre-season and post season tournament. Pre-season tournament is typically the end of March and post season tournament is typically middle of May. There is not a fee to join this league. The teams typically charge a player fee or fund raise to cover costs. Team costs consist of paying for umpires for your home games (we recommend at least one certified umpire), equipment (we recommend working with your high school coaches for their unused gear), and uniforms.

This league was developed to be a feeder program for the associated high school program. It is not a travel ball league, and it is not a summer ball league.
