Re: JV SOFTBALL TEAMS
It has probably been close to 10 years since Unioto last fielded a reserve Softball team.
I know of only 3 SVC teams planning on having reserve softball squads this year,
Trace, Westfall and Huntington.
Trace always seems to have a lot of numbers come out for softball, Westfall is seeing a numbers increase this season. Huntington at times struggled to get a full roster for last seasons reserve schedule.
Reserve girl sports in the SVC is struggling.
The past two seasons we have seen both Piketon and Zane Trace unable to complete a full reserve schedule in volleyball.
I think overall in basketball the reserve participation was up this year but a season or so ago, less then half the SVC teams completed the full 14 game league schedule.
And I don't think there has ever been as year in SVC softball where all 8 teams played a full league schedule.
Ready for spring

Re: JV SOFTBALL TEAMS
Glad to see that there are still some of us old school people out there that calls it like it is......."reserve". Now we are expected to be politically correct and use "Junior" Varsity so we don't hurt anyone's feelings.
Re: JV SOFTBALL TEAMS
I've called it/heard at as JV all my life. Everyone I know has always called it JV and varsity.
You can make either name into a slight I guess.
