There's a big win!

I enjoyed the LC softball article where they won 31-5.....first paragraph says they had a total of 24 RBI but their individual stats totaled 34 RBI and they had one girl with 16 RBI and 10 SB and another girl had 12 SB....lol

Yeah, state record for most RBIs in a game is 11 and SB is 10. Love to know who is keeping book. Guess they have never heard of the term "defensive indifference" if there is no attempt for the out. LOL

West Union run ruled by Fairfield.

Does any one know the rule for slapping? I thought if contact was made with the ball out of the batter's box the batter was out. At one point there was even a batter that stepped on home plate.

The batter's box dimensions are 3' back from the back side corner of the plate (not the tip) and 4' forward. Most batters boxes are not marked that far forward even though the box extends that far, but the batter cannot step into the center, outside of the imaginary lines, OR on homeplate. Those are all in fair territory and if the batter makes contact with the ball in those areas they are "Out of the Box" and it should be an out.

Congrats to the LC players.

Article from the Times Gazette.

"Hannah Binkley now holds the number one spot in the record book for the most RBI’s in one game with 13. Binkley and her teammate Madysyn Creighton are both in the record books in the stolen bases category. Creighton is tied for fourth with nine steals and Binkley is right behind her tied for fifth with her eight steals. All three of these milestones were accomplished in the Lynchburg-Clay softball team’s 31-5 victory over Manchester earlier this year."

North Adams has Peebles tonight and W Union Thursday remaining.

They are currently 5-6 in the league.

What are the league records for everyone else?
