East beat south Gallia by 1 we was down 3 or 4 in the top of the seventh and held them off in the bottom of the seventh. I think the final was 16 to 15

I think the school names should have been flipped. It says "finish when Southern is at RV" which leads me to believe this game was at Southern?

the game was at Southern. We started to bat in bottom of 7th. Lightning got bad so it was a suspended game till 5/2 at RV

Both teams only bat if the VISITING team takes the lead in the top half of that inning. If River Valley was winning at end of the 6th, game is complete game and FINAL.

Old-Timer, that was my point also. If it was not tied at the end of the 5th or the 6th for that matter, the game is over.

Tornado, your quote "lightning got so bad so it was a suspended game": PLEASE tell me the umpires stopped the game immediately upon either seeing the first lightning bolt or hearing the first crack of thunder...

For some reason, there are coaches/parents/schools/umpires - yes I am throwing everyone under the bus - who feel that if a game does not go the full seven innings when one of the teams is not up 10 or more, that the game is not complete after playing five.
