Re: What should be done with the Newville Little League?
Honestly....I played when Sciotoville had little league, I then went to NewVille when that league was made. When the league was first made it ran smoothly and always fielded good teams then after about roughly 3-4 years it slowly started going down hill to the point to where that no games were scheduled to be played in Sciotoville which was part of the agreement in the first that there would be games played in Sciotoville at Rose Street park. The last 2-3 years this league has been an utterly complete joke in which nobody cared about what was going on, who coaches were, or even who was in charge in taking sign ups....I found this out personally this season in which I went to sign up to coach a team and was not given a team to coach. I seen the president of the league and asked him about it, he replied that he never seen my name to coach and asked me who I signed up with. Once I told him he said "She is not even part of the league and should not have been taking sign ups for kids" The first thing that came to my mind then was I hope no kids signed up and gave them cash. The league has not even had all-star teams in how long now... This league needs to be dropped by little league, kids from Sciotoville are not going there to play they are going to Wheelersburg, Minford, or else where to play. Kids in New Boston are just flat out not playing. Honestly, I would not mind seeing this league shut down and let the kids that want to play go else where to leagues that care about the kids and not who is in charge or any other adult drama. I would not even mind Sciotoville trying to get some short of little league system back for the community and its kids whether it be through Little League, Babe Ruth league or just teams together to just play and learn the game. It is not like there are not fields for this to happen. There are really three fields on Rose Street that could be played on once they are fixed, but honestly only two worth playing on and then there are two fields for the older kids out 140. The 13th of September I will know where I will be at.... I hope that others are there also.

The reason it was taken from Sciotoville the first time was because no one would take control of the league. Dan Mullins and his wife worked their rear ends off trying to keep the league at Sciotoville but could not get anyone to step up and help. I hope this time the people will accept the challenge. Communities are only hurting the high school programs when they do not have GOOD, QUALITY youth programs feeding the junior high and high school. Good luck to getting the league back home.

I have put up a couple fliers in key places in Sciotoville where people will see as well as was able to get Jenkins to put it up on their board as well for people to see when leaving Sciotioville. Going to try another place or two tomarrow to see if they will put up the flier as well.
