pipetteman wrote:Total so far from the Gallia-Jackson Strike-Out-Cancer game is $939. The Jackson girls collected $400 which will be sent to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and the Gallia girls collected the rest at the gate and donated a percentage of their hit-a-thon fundraiser. That money will be donated to the Holzer Cancer Center. Thanks girls for a job well done.

More donations were collected at the gate but the Gallia AD decided that he needed reimbursed $150 for the evening since admission to the baseball and softball games were not collected. Pitiful!

If that money was donated for the Ovarian Cancer Coalition and the Holzer Center for Cancer Care, then that is where every penny of it should go. Thats why it is a donation not an admission. Shame on him.

This happened a couple years ago with the same teams and I think they flipped a coin.

If it comes down to Marietta and Logan tied I think it goes to Logan from winning two of the three games. If it is Marietta and Warren It may go to Marietta and if Logan and Warren it should go to Warren. :aaaaa46

Your are right it was in basketball two years ago. It was a number drawing not a coin toss.

If Logan and Warren both win: Logan, Warren and Marietta all finish 8--4. They would be 3-3 against each other in head -to- head games, which would force league representatives to break the tie.

I would like to let everyone know that ALL the money that was collected by the Jackson and Gallipolis softball teams,
was turned over to the cancer charities of choice. Outside donations were made through the GAHS Athletic Boosters Club to pay the $150.00 that our AD required from the gate of that game. This type of joint effort is something you don't see very often between two competing schools. Great job, ladies and coaches!!

Kudos to those donating to the GAHS Athletic Boosters Club so that all money collected could go to charity. The Ironladies mailed $400.00 to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition in Sheri's name.

Grannyblue couldn't have said it any better--'This type of joint effort is something you don't see very often between two competing schools. Great job, ladies and coaches!!'

That's wonderful then. I am proud of all the girls on both teams for doing this.

Other DOC scores

Athens 19, Portsmouth 2 (5 inn.) at Athens

Logan 1, Gallipolis 0 at Logan

Zanesville 1, Chillicothe 1 (5 inn.) at Zanesville

Softball is a 5-0 sweep for the north ... all games had been played at the South teams last year and were at the North teams this year.
