It will all come down to pitching. Someone in the tourney will hold the offense down. Homeruns knocked them out last year. Hard to defend those.PtownClown wrote: Thu Mar 14, 2019 12:03 pm I don't see how Wheelersburg doesn't make a run at another state title with the talent and depth that they have, can't image too many teams with more talent at the D3 level or probably any level

anyone else in the region come close to burgs talent?Softballdad wrote: Thu Mar 14, 2019 4:55 pm If Burg stays healthy they have to be favorite to come out of region.
Re: 2019 SOC 2
Thought I would add Minford's district title years to the current list:
1993, 1994, 1986, 1997 with 1995 district runners up.
As far as this season goes, good strides are happening so far with scrimmages.

Minford has several nice players who will play in college , Have to play a perfect game against Burg to beat them and catch Burg on a day where the bats are off , but it could happen. They are talented .

Burgs first scrimmage tonite
Very solid
I agree with someone earlier- pitching will determine how far they go in tournament ( just like everyone else I guess)
I’ve seen Minford play as well and I too believe they have enough talent to beat Burg

Not only is C. Brisker one of the best hitters in all of SEO, she's one of the best if not the best SS that I have seen play in many years.Sballbball24/7 wrote: Fri Mar 29, 2019 9:10 pm Heck of a game between minford and oak hill at oak hill tonight, game ended with walk off hr with Cate briskers 3rd home run of the game to make it 8-6,brisker ended up 4-5 with 3 hrs...congrats to timea Burnett of oak hill for first hr of her career..wolfenbarker and shoemaker homered for minford..total of 6hrs in game..very exciting game to watch..great team play on both sides

Two great battles between Oaks and Minford this week as they split. SOC 2 is gonna be fun to watch. Oaks right back at it this week playing Waverly twice.
Re: 2019 SOC 2
Brisker makes everything look effortless and does it with class. She's not big headed about anything good that comes her way. Great kid.

Glad to see oak hill doing well despite losing a key contributor two weeks before the season started

Brisker is a dominant player , will be a real get for a SSU or Rio if they can land her . If she wants to local.
Re: 2019 SOC 2
I think unless something changes, she's already said she's going to Rio Grande to play Basketball and Softball. I have no doubt that if anyone can do both, it will be her, as she's an outstanding student as well as a great athlete.ManitouDan2 wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2019 10:01 am Brisker is a dominant player , will be a real get for a SSU or Rio if they can land her . Waverly beat Oak Hill handily tonight 8-1. Waverly pitching was dominant from start to finish. Tigers hit the ball all over the field. The league will be decided between Waverly and Burg. Only run Oaks scored was on an error.

Re: 2019 SOC 2
The girl that waverly threw against burg at burg last year held the burg hitters in check. If she is back it might be close. Burg is just so tough from 1-9 to hold in check for an entire game. Your pitcher may throw a great game but 1 walk an error and one swing of the bat 1-9 and your down 3-0.
Vass before transfers 229-75 burg 5-1, Pendleton and transfers 211-84 6-2 ironton
