I don't see how Wheelersburg doesn't make a run at another state title with the talent and depth that they have, can't image too many teams with more talent at the D3 level or probably any level

It will all come down to pitching. Someone in the tourney will hold the offense down. Homeruns knocked them out last year. Hard to defend those.

Thought I would add Minford's district title years to the current list:
1993, 1994, 1986, 1997 with 1995 district runners up.
As far as this season goes, good strides are happening so far with scrimmages.

Minford has several nice players who will play in college , Have to play a perfect game against Burg to beat them and catch Burg on a day where the bats are off , but it could happen. They are talented .

she can hit the long ball for sure but what are her other stats? avg runs obp? strength of schdule. pitching? who coaches minford? sounds like they handed the oaks that one

I think unless something changes, she's already said she's going to Rio Grande to play Basketball and Softball. I have no doubt that if anyone can do both, it will be her, as she's an outstanding student as well as a great athlete.

Waverly beat Oak Hill handily tonight 8-1. Waverly pitching was dominant from start to finish. Tigers hit the ball all over the field. The league will be decided between Waverly and Burg. Only run Oaks scored was on an error.

The girl that waverly threw against burg at burg last year held the burg hitters in check. If she is back it might be close. Burg is just so tough from 1-9 to hold in check for an entire game. Your pitcher may throw a great game but 1 walk an error and one swing of the bat 1-9 and your down 3-0.
