Ironton lost 2 games of a double header to SV today 9-2 and 5-1, I think. VERY GOOD SV team !! 3 of the best pitchers on a team in Lawrence Co. since I can remember. I would suspect !! Ironton is young, but will be FINE when they settle in and adjust. Good Luck to ALL !!

SV Red beat S.P. last night 11-1. Three run homer by Ms. Haley Pelletier and a nice one off the out field fence by Ms Kayla Ross. This is the younger of the two S.V. teams but they are a determined group of young ladies. Nance got the win for the Vikings with some strong pitching. She was relieved late in the game by Erica Johnson. The red team is coached by Mr. Bill Nance who led the Vikings to the state jr. league finals last year in Astrabula.

Junior and senior leagues are combined for regular season, but all stars the teams will play separately. Most of the SP teams have a majority of junior league kids on them too bad they don't play separately for reg. season. but I guess not enough of the regular teams could field just sr or jr teams.

It was discussed in a district meeting and apparently either not enough had the #'s to do it or just didn't want to divide up into jr./sr divisions. I know there were a couple that could of done it but 2 teams don't get.

What a DANDY at the HILL tonight !!!You talk about kids not quitting...Give it up to Ironton and RH !! This game went 12 inn ( I think ). score ended up 12-13 , Ironton on top. Whenever RH held Ironton scoreless in the top, Ironton returned the favor. If Ironton scored 2, so did the Hill. Ironton scored 1 in the top of the 12th, and held RH in the bottom to set the final score! Nice game by all the young ladies involved. It is a shame someone had to lose this one !! Ironton goes to 4-2 on the season. Good Luck on the rest of the season !!

Roy (lightin') McCallister and his Lady Pointer squad came to Ironton and snuck out with a victory 4-3. S. Burcham hit a 2 run dinger and pitched a nice game. CJ Fletcher had a nice game on the mound for the Lady Tigers as well. Tied 3-3 going into the top of the 7th, SP scored 1 to set the final margin. GOOD GAME by both squads !! Ironton has SV @ home friday @ 6:00 and has to travel back out to the Hill for a 2:00 showdown Sat.
