East should be improved this year...I look for them to make some noise in the SOC this year.

Clay should be strong again.
I agree Symmes Valley and Green will be good as well but you can't overlook ND.
East will be much better this year.
Look for some great games in 2009 in SOC 1.

Clay lost 3 players:
Kristen Adams-catcher
Mallory White-Center field
Cayla Warnock-Third base
I'm not sure about the upcoming freshman, but last year Clay had a strong bench.
We'll see what happens

clay will still be tough this year as they usually are. the 3 players will be missed but a good group of seniors should be able to hold it down a be leaders. they also have a pretty tough bench. a solid line up and one of the best pitchers in the area they should be able to bring the soc title to clay again

The same story with this team as the past 3. If they decide to shut their mouths and just play ball they will be tough. If they get into their normal crap that they do every year they're going to self destruct. Yes, they have made it pretty far the past few years...but for a team with as much talent as they had to not win a State is pretty sad
This will more than likely be my last post on this subject as this tends to be a touchy subject with a few people. But either way you look at it, this is a very talented group of girls...Im not so sure they will be as tough as last year, but it really doesnt matter what they have if they continure all their antics.

From my understanding mr "beawarrior", clay had one or two people that said anything... they had one parent from what i remember who couldn't keep her mouth shut, but her daughter graduated. i think last year a lot of things were mad up, and thrown out of proportion.
i believe that they may now have one girl that will be trouble, but other than her, they have a group of fairly nice girls.

Clay will be strong this year. Not excited for the up coming freshman, they don't really know the game that well. except for Mader, she was excellent on the mound and short durring JrH. I do believe she will be Groves back up since Summers is catching.

I think clay will be good this year. I don't know much about the up coming freshmen though. Yeah they did have a pretty strong bench. I think they will go pretty far if they have the desire to win from the beginning.

It always helps when you have a deep bench like clay does.
If someone gets hurt, there is always someone to step in for them

It depends on who comes out...is Groves playing? I didn't know if she was since she quit basketball.
But, I look for the NB Tigers to claw out an SOC championship!

Why would Groves not play after a team with so many successful years? She also did not quit basketball, she simply didn't go out for the team....

I think the three teams will again be Clay, Green and Symmes Valley. Clay is always tough with Groves pitching if she keeps her cool. Loads of talent everywhere but time will tell. White is gonna be missed in center as well as at the plate.
Green has a big question mark due to new coaching. Thompson is tough no doubt but what can the coach put on the field to assist her? Hard to replace Coach Bailey.
I have watched Ali in warmups this year and though it is hard to believe, but I think she is throwing mid to upper 60's with no effort. Even faster than last year if you can believe it. I clocked her last year around 63 -64 midseason.
Symmes Valley lost three last year, two of them starters. Ash is a senior and has been working hard. Corn is a junior as is Nance. Any of these three girls can turn in a good performance pitching. Their infield and outfield should be solid.
Can't Wait !
Looks to be an entertaining year on the SOC I.

popcorn -- nice report , keep the info comin' on the SOC 1 . ND is a huge question mark right now --don't know who is playing and who chose to set it out. A Keller is a fine pitcher but don't know who will end up in the field with her. wish there were too many , instead of not enough . MD
