Anyone have any detailed info on the Lady Warriors for 2009?
This is what I know from looking over from the baseball side of things.
Based on the players returning Warren should be solid. The infield will need to replace the graduated Lakin Horner at third (if possible) but everyone else in the dirt returns I believe with seniors Hannah McMichael (C) and Maggie Bennett (1B), Juniors Taylor Dolak (2B) and Randi Mckenna (SS). The pitching staff is intact with Senior Kayla Leach and Sophomore Molly Powell returning. I've heard a rumor that Rachel Morgan may be back also. Senior outfielders Darci Leffingwell, Kayla Chevalier and Mallory Archer also return. Sophomore Staci Lauer should also get some PT in the outfield. Warren also has some good freshman coming in.
Coach Venham has a lot of talent to work with and will have a great season. Goodluck Lady Warriors.

I agree there is a lot of talent this year on the Warren team. Hopefully they are STATE bound. Watched Darci Leffingwell play third in the spring, she looked very comfortable and did a great job.

good luck to the 2 freshmen softball players that I know, Zimmerman and Spence.
Both have years of experience on the diamond, and will make an impact on their team.

Have also heard that seniors Kayla Chevalier and Lynn Macchia will not be playing, wow what is happening to all the seniors? Does anyone know if this is true? This may open the door for some younger ladies to make an impact.

Good luck and have a safe injury free season: Kayla, Molly,Maggie,Randi,Lindsay, and all the Blue Wave alums. I hope you all have a successful season. I hope to see you all along the season, and maybe if we all are lucky, we will see each other at the DOC. By the way, had a blast this summer keeping score.

There looked to be about 25 girls working out today with Coach Venham. Very solid team, they should be a lot of fun to watch.

they look very good ,had alot of hits make it to the fence, and the pitching was good only gave up 4 hits or close to hit, they also scrimmaged Trimble and look very good on the defence end both games .they did alot of good things right played small ball and had alot of extra base hits, dont think they had error in either game

WOW!!
What talent the Warren team has this year...I've seen them play twice and just like their basketball team one right fielder with the same bad attitude will lead to their
demise. HELLO coaches do you not see what is happening to your programs by allowing a teenager to run your teams. It is time for the coaches to take back your teams and put the attitudes on AFV where they belong!! Good luck we will see you one more time...

it is hard to get anything going if u have only played 3 games in 3 weeks and 2 of them against one of the best pitchers in southeast part of ohio .She is ALL STATE pitcher and when u dont see much live hitting or game situation it is hard to get it going .Give this team time and they will be a very good team .

Until the AD is forced to do his job, Warren's stick and ball sports will not get much opportunity to play games. In his words, he doesn't feel they are athletes.
