Final Chillicothe Post for 2010 Season

I just want to say how proud the Chillicothe community is of the CHS softball team. Many people that I spoke with before the Sheridan game respectfully said that Chillicothe was in over their head against a solid Sheridan team. For the Cavs to have held Sheridan to no-hits through 5 and to be at 0-0 going into the 7th, you couldn't ask any more of the team.
To have won 7 out of 10 and to have not believed all the negativity surrounding this program.....Congrats and well done. The SEOAL will feel the effects next year of a VERY hungry program looking for more respect.
On a personal note: Coach Phillips' father has had cancer and been on Hospice since the beginning of the season. Coach Phillips found out during the fifth inning of the Sheridan game that his father had passed. God was merciful to him and after three minutes his father began to breathe again. Coach was able to make it home where his father (who had promised the team he wouldn't die during their season) passed away shortly after the final out. Great job coach on believing in these girls when few did. Great job being a role-model and your humor and passion for the game. RIP Jerry Phillips
