The second inning was a 7 run killer for Sheridan as there were walks, a hit batter, passed balls, wild pitches and overthrows but GAHS took advantage as you should in situations like that. I was talking to a guy from Unioto who said most of the SEOAL coaches aren't to fond of Mr. Niday but I played competitive softball against Jimmy for many years and he is what he is. He is an intense & fired up guy on the field who will tell it like it is and get on his team if they are doing something wrong and try to take advantage of situations when the other team has blunders. Sheridan outhit the Angels 10 to 7 but they perservered. Good job in winning the District and good luck at Picktown, I'll be there watching. :)

Congrats Angels! Way to go! As for Coach Niday, Congrats to him as well! He coached my oldest for 4 years and now my youngest to finish her 3rd. There is NO ONE I would rather coached my girls than Jim. He is a competitor on the field like no other, and he teaches our girls to do the same. There are tons of so called experts on the sidelines who think they could do better, just ask them they'll tell you, but as for me Im behind Coach Niday and the District Champ Blue Angels the WHOLE way. Results...enough said. GO BLUE

Very proud of Angel Nation today! Several students and staff from GAHS made the trip as well as several former players and tons of family members. I know the girls appreciate the support. Lets do it all again at Pickerington on Thursday!

You're exactly right BLUE. Most people nowadays don't want the "old school" type of coach Jimmy is but as I stated in other words in my earlier post, he might seem like and "a_ _" at times to the outsider but if intensity, fierceness and competitiveness get's results then so be it. I think a lot of this "political correctness" in society today has also moved into athletics and half the people who admonish this have never played a sport in their life.

Couldn't have said it any better myself FOS.......You learn life lessons from those who demand the best from you, and I can tell by what has been said that Coach Niday is one of those people.

Today's political correctness aside, anyone who has been mentored, coached, taught, or cared for by someone with the demanding characteristics that some people seem to have a problem with, well, those of us who have been the recepients of harsh criticism or highly demanding coaches/teachers have benefited from it, tenfold.

I know that I learned more about discipline, organization, and effort from a teacher/coach like Coach Niday than just about anyone else in my life (excluding my father of course).

Congrats to the Blue Angels!
