Only thing I know is the Vikings got hammerd by Ashland 28-4. As would most of the teams in the tristate area!

ashland has a very experienced deep team and actually understands what a high level advanced swing looks like. It doesn't happen by playing softball 3 months a year . dedicated team that has put a bunch into getting where they are at. Hopefully they finish top 4-6 in the state tourney this summer , or better. Their ace is lights out.

The teams across the river are starting to get serious about softball. Just south of Ashland there's a place that sells strictly softball gear and instructs hitting and pitching for kids who want to kick their skills up a notch. There are some kids around here who go to get some batting in the off season. I'm not that familiar with Ashland's softball program but I know Greenup Co. wasn't all that strong the last time I saw them a couple of years ago.

Ashland's head coach Dave Miller owns a indoor complex totally dedicated to fastpitch, not baseball. He brings in top notch people . Thats why Ashland's star is rising. Championship fastpitch out on rt 60, my kid went there quite a bit last year in preparation for travel ball. He has brought in Larry Ray (zona's small ball coach) and Don slaught (perfector of the right view pro system and great swing coach ) as well as Mich St's coach and several other fastpitch stars. MD

O. K. the pieces are coming together now. I wasn't sure what the connection was there. I knew the owner was a coach someplace just from talking to him a couple of times. I bought a couple of things there and checked out the facility. I was impressed with the effort to bring in some high caliber people in to give instruction to the kids. A great place to get young players in especially if your lower level coaches aren't teaching fundamentals.

it's a great place -- long drive but worth the effort because next to NO ONE is teaching what he teaches offensively up there. Maybe a couple baseball guys in the county but I'm not aware of any softball guys who teach's what he teaches.
