Jackson 7 Chillicothe 5......8 innings

What a game tonight in Chillicothe. Goodness. Chillicothe came out firing on senior night and ripped off 3 runs in the 1st inning. The Lady Cavs continued to roll as pitcher Riley Bouillion kept the Ironladies off balance and behind in the count for the first 6 innings. Bouillion also had a huge 2 out double in the bottom of the 5th to extend the lead to 5-1. Jackson down to their final 3 outs finally began their huge comeback. Jackson strings together many hits and Chillicothe now has a 5-3 lead with the tying run on 2nd.....Jackson player strikes out but ball gets away and Jackson player reaches 1st on an errant throw and the tying runs scores from 2nd on a close play at the plate....final out made trying to advance to 2nd. Chillicothe leads off the bottom of the 7th with a hit but Jackson gets out of it. Jackson scores 2 runs in the top of the 8th on a barrage of bunts and a line drive single.......Chillicothe couldn't muster enough in the bottom half to extend it and Jackson steals a victory from the jaws of defeat.

Hats off to the Chillicothe folks! Great game by their girls, excellent coaching and they had some great fans to go along with a very nice facility. Those girls had their heads up after that tough loss and they are going to be a handful in our sectional semifinal matchup this Wednesday at Jackson.

Jackson moves to 12-7 on the season and 7-4 in the SEOAL. Senior Jessica Apsley earns her 10th win of the season.
