It simply doesn't get any better than this in regular season high school softball! Clay, ranked #2 in the state, versus conference rival Notre Dame, ranked #6 in the state. The Lady Panthers beat ND earlier in the season, 2-1, at Rubyville. Clay (no conference losses) can pretty much clinch the SOC I crown and a #1 seed in the tournament with a win over the Lady Titans. ND (one conf. loss) can lay claim to a likely share of the SOC crown with a win over the Lady Panthers. I'm expecting more scoring in this one.
GOOD LUCK LADY PANTHERS!!!!!
#2 Portsmouth Clay @ #6 Portsmouth Notre Dame. Huge.

I thought score was 11-6 but maybe it was 11-7...great game. Both pitchers hit home runs, Miranda Pauley (ND) got a grand slam and Autumn (Clay) got a 3 run shot (I think).

Final score 11-6....the 2nd inning proved to be fatal for the Panthers giving up 8 runs alone in that inning. Lots of errors by their defense, but a great job by the Titans. And a great pitching performance from Pauley to go along with her grand salami. It's a shame both teams are in the same district and that only one can make it out.
