SOC 1 and 2 - who are the front runners ?

Burg appears loaded in the 2 , even though they graduated their pitcher . Waverly was playing good ball late in the season , who else might challenge them ?
In the SOC 1 , SV brings back all starters and could be a front runner . ND graduated 4 starters who all batted at the top of the order and 3 of the 4 were 4 year starters . Also graduated their outstanding pitcher . Don't know if anyone else can challenge those 2 teams . ND does bring aboard a fine freshman thrower . She's def good enough to keep them in games but they lost a huge amount of talent and experience .

SOC II
Wheelersburg
Waverly
West
Valley
Minford
Northwest
Oak Hill
South Webster
Wheelersburg returns nearly everyone from their regional final team from 2014 along with the return of a sophomore who played last year in Washington. Really should be Wheelersburg at the top of the league, and competing for the regional championship.
West will compete well against teams in the league, and Waverly returns several players. Minford lost their ace and Valley will probably be using a freshman in the circle.

Been a long long time since the SOC2 has not had a dominant power pitcher . Dillow at Valley and Conkey at Minford . That covers the past 6 years.
And a new era will dawn in the SOC 1 also . Should be fun stuff in both conferences . Dont think Burg can be touched but the SOC1 is wide open .

Was not aware til a dude texted me that transfers might play a role in both leagues . There has been a mass exodus from Minford. Two to Clay and three to Notre Dame. Don't ask me who or why , but evidently Clay got the best of the bunch. So Minford gets weaker and the smaller league gets some players that might make a difference . Oaks could use some of those Minford escapees.

Now that the season is at the half way point how would you rank these teams?

SOC II
1. Wheelersburg (All phases clicking, state bound)
2. Waverly (Seems to find ways to win)
3. Minford (Four close losses and one blowout with a young team, but can really hit the ball)
4. West (Solid pitcher and good defense)
5. Valley (Up and down but not out)
6. Northwest (A very much improved ball club)
7. South Webster (Very young, but has a couple of nice players)
8. Oak Hill (Also very young but a smart coach that will find some success)

I have to agree! Minford seems to be getting better as the season goes. It will be interesting to see how it goes the second half of the season.

The standings pretty much stood true to what some of you projected. Burg, Waverly, West etc. A good battle all year it seems. Several schools had outstanding freshmen classes that will dominate the next few years. Burg, West,Valley, and Notre Dame. The incoming freshmen for the 2015-16 season as well. The pitching will be exciting to see since the teams mentioned above all have girls (that play on travel ball teams) that pitch and are very versatile on the field.

No offense but Valley and ND sure isn't going to dominate their leagues next couple years . Maybe that isn't what you meant .. ND looks locked into 3rd or worse next year as SV loses very little and Clay gets much much better . And ND loses 3 starters . At a minimum . Valley might improve but Burg will the team that still dominates the SOC2 .

Waverly should be solid for the next several years. They have a solid junior class, sophomore class, and the freshman class has only lost 2 games in 3 years. Their are many solid travel ball players within this group Who play for teams such as Ohio Hawks, Central Ohio Lady Vipers, Diamonds Elite, Ohio Passion, etc. I wouldn't be so quick to crown the Pirates as conference champions the next few years! there might be a few other teams that have something to say about that. From what I've seen Minford, and Valley have a lot of young talent coming up too and should be a handful for anyone the next few years.
